When we dealt with the 104 fever, urgent care told us to take her in if she wasn't acting normal. They said that 104 and not acting strange is fine. When she started hallucinating, we knew it was time. I'm so sorry and hope everything is okay! Those high fevers are awful!

I'm sorry. Personally I'd try Motrin to see if he keeps that down, I've found it to be more effective with the girls and they fever high. But like others mentioned, follow your gut.
Poor baby just take him. There is no negative to taking him at this point and you're not going to get any sleep anyway. D wasn't that bad when we took her a few weeks ago and I'm still glad we went and got fluids

Guys I am in tears. My husband and I are arguing right now. He doesn't think we need to take him in. He is fighting me on it saying it's not that bad. I don't know what to do. I told him to leave the room that I'm rocking L in because I didn't want us to keep yelling at each other and arguing.
Call the nurse line again, let them know what's going on- I'm sure they will tell you ER- have them talk to your H.

If his fever isn't going down and he's disoriented, I'd make the call myself and just leave my husband at home. If nothing else it will ease your mind. Hugs!
Sorry you are fighting with your H. If your gut says go (and he sounds like this isn't an over-reaction) just go. You can make up with your H tomorrow.

This. The exact same thing happened to us when Samantha was very sick, I was urged to take her to ER but my H didn't think we should. I finally had my pedi talk to him. Very glad we went. I think you should take him. They will at least hook him up to fluids.

It's so scary the first time and all the other times they get so sick. Usually things are ok but it really helps to be seen and go through all the protocols of what to do when. I hope things get better soon Chels.
DH's excuse is- "well what will a hospital do? Hook him up to an IV and give him fluids?" YES. And this is a problem?? He doesn't think it's that serious.
Ugh I'm sorry, and I can totally relate. It's very frustrating, but I really hope we are all wrong and he won't wake up again with a high fever.
When Lincoln's was at 103.7 the other night, the on call nurse said to take him in if I couldn't keep it below 101 with meds. If Layne wakes up and it's still high, I would take him in.
If it's not terribly late, can you send your H to the drugstore to get Feverall? It's a suppository tylenol, so even though he's throwing up, you may be able to get some meds in him.
Hugs! Blake's fever got to 104.5 yesterday evening and it freaked me out. Jeff's aunt is pediatric ER doc, so I called her to see if I should take him in. She said to go in if it hit 105 or if he started having any other symptoms in addition to the fever. Luckily, it responded well to Motrin so we never got to that point.
