I'm still new to this but I love ours so much. I still walk her but when I'm tired or its motn its been a life saver. We might be moving temporarily and one thing we would def take is our rocker.
DD is 2 and we still use the glider a ton. Early on it was the most comfortable option for me for nursing, now we just use it to rock her at bedtime. I also liked being able to lock it in a recline position when we slept it it a lot early on. DH and I are actually in a discussion of whether we should buy another glider for the baby's room so DD can keep hers.

I've used mine daily for 4 years (2 kids). For nursing, reading stories, holding a sleeping baby, pumping, you name it. I'd have regretted not having one. The motion is soothing for me & the babe.
I have the couch version with foot rest and it's awesome. I get more use out of it now that he no longer sleeps & takes naps in the PnP in our room (I would just nurse in bed).
I'm typing this while nursing in the glider in DS's room. I think it's worth it, I don't have to go downstairs to the recliner in the middle of the night. However if you have a recliner, you could also move that to the baby's room until he/she is down nursing. We picked a piece that coordinates with the rest of our furniture so we can use it elsewhere in the house when our kids are done with it. We got a Best chair, I really like it.
I didn't use it initially as DS slept in our room, but we transitioned to the crib around 6 weeks and I would still feed at least once a night at that point in the glider. It also came in handy during the 4 month wakeful as ours is pretty comfy and I slept in it a couple times. He definitely preferred that I walk around in the earlier months, but now I often read and sing to him in the glider (especially when he gets cranky).
We also bought more of a recliner than a traditional glider that I plan to move to our basement for additional seating when we move it out of DS' room.
Not necessary, but wonderful. I nursed DS on the couch in front of the tv a lot of the time when he was little, but he still loves to snuggle and read in the glider. I nursed DD almost exclusively in the glider so that she wouldn't be distracted by her brother.

Never used the glider with either baby. It's in DS's room now and we read bedtime stories in it. I had a bed in the nursery I used ALL the time, but I much preferred lying down and dozing to nurse to sitting and staying awake.
We survived without one, but he was in a bassinet that could rock. He never took naps in it though.
Mom wants one, but mostly so that there is a chair for her in baby's room. She has trouble getting down into the floor and back up. A consideration if you have parents/ILs who will be watching baby.
I love ours. In fact, we ended up buying a second one so that we have one in j's.room and the girls' room. We still use it with J to read his bedtime stories and.rock him while we listen to his lullaby before he goes in his crib. Or when he is sick and wakes motn I like to rock him. I guess in just like to rock babies lol even my big almost 2yo baby.
We've used ours Everyday that we've been home. I nursed in it overnight and sometimes during the day. Now we do story time before bedtime in the chair.
Our glider (Best Chairs "Nava") is truly one of my favorite baby-related purchases. I use it multiple times a day and am so glad I got the coordinating ottoman to be able to put my feet up.
We didn't have one for DD1. We were in a fairly small condo so we didn't really have the room. It was just as convenient to use our sofas and rock her in our arms.
With that said, we are planning to get one for DD2's room, but primarily because we've moved into a house. All of the bedrooms are upstairs and I know we'll be feeling too lazy to go downstairs in the middle of the night.
I use mine every day and definitely think it was a worthwhile purchase. I used it so much with DS1 that I upgraded and bought a better one for DS2 (the old one is still in DS1's room and still gets used for stories).
I think even if you don't buy a glider, you will need a comfortable place to sit if you are planning on nursing.
It was for us. We initially thought we could survive without one. We went out to purchase one within 3 weeks. I spent hours rocking both my babies in it every night.
We got a big leather glider/recliner. That thing is worth it's weight in gold. Not only have we used it for feeding/rocking, but many nights have been spent sleeping holding E, sickness, teething, etc.
We spent $$ on ours b/c it will move down to the family room.

We lived in a small condo when DS was born, so we didn't get one for space reasons. I got used to nursing on the couch or in bed, so we didn't get one when DD came along.

I don't love ours. We sometimes read books in it but I hate nursing in it because dd stretches out her legs and braces them on the arm. I prefer to nurse in bed or on the floor.

There is no room for one in the nursery but we have a super comfy glider as part of our sofa set and our living room is just outside the nursery, so that glider gets a ton of use. So essentially, I am pro-comfy chair wherever you can find space for one.
