The floor tile is changing to ivory travertine. Our cabinets are cherry and have a contemporary feel. Backsplash is honey onyx. Walls are a light warm greige.
Our current main counter top is concrete. I love the idea of it, but it is a PIS maintenance wise and it drives me insane that you can't spill certain things on it or it etches. I am over it and so is DH.
I feel like with the stone backsplash and the stone floor I don't want another stone on the counters. I want to do a Corian/ solid surface.
My gut pick is off white. I lean towards the more beige white on the left over the ivory white to the right. They both look nearly identical in person, but there's a slight cast difference. I am just freaked it is going to be too stark! I am so nervous and I never get this way over design choices. What do you guys think?
Also, H wants to keep our island as is with the espresso colored lacquer wood counter top. In not so sure and think it needs to change. It's a big countertop and I think it would be too stark and distracting against the white of the other counters. He thinks it will be too much white.
Attaching photos of the wall/backsplash counter combo ( the cherry molding will hopefully not be needed with the new counter tops). Also attaching another pic for feel of the room.

Damn, I love concrete counters and its a bummer they are not working out. I would go with a concrete looking quartz and keep the rest :-) But since that's not the plan I would go with a countertop that's a bit warmer than the floors that has some texture or swirly stuff. I feel like a little more contrast is needed between the floor and the counters, it may be there already and just hard to see in the pics, I like your light fixture.
Yea, quartz is beautiful but this isn't our forever home and we are selling in 2 years. I would love an off white quartz with a touch of sparkle and very little pattern but it wouldn't be worth it in this neighborhood.
Hmmm... I feel like with the pattern on the floor and the pattern on the wall I'm having a hard time with another pattern on the counters. You don't think the off white counters are enough contrast with the beige-ivory travertine in the floors?
I love the concrete. It is sealed but you have to wax it often and reseal it every year or so. It's an ordeal because you have to strip it.
You also can't get anyyyyything acidic on it or it etches it. Then you have to sand it with diamond paper reseal and wax. It is really irritating. I just want to bleach and wipe. I don't have time for all that.
Ok I'm going to go with my gut! You guys like the off white swatch in the left right?

Ok, I have my laptop open while I probe from my phone. I can see the texture in the floor now. It looked just beige on my other screen. I'd go with the slightly Warmer counter top.

I like them both and think what you've picked out will look great. Hard to tell the difference but I think I like the one on the right slightly more since it looks slightly warmer to me.
That sounds beautiful and elegant in an understated way, which I love. I like the plain white counter so it balances out the texture in the other surfaces. I like the white on the right also, the other is a little too cool/ olive toned and might look a little dingy? Are you going to post pics of the finished result? I'd love to see!
I don't mind the color of the concrete but I think concrete inherently comes across as cold in a room and the color adds to that. I think a something that makes the room bright and light up would be better for resale/buyer attraction.
Cambria is engineered quartz. I've looked at it several times and it is gorgeous.
I love light/white countertops, so I think they would be nice!
I am super jealous of your kitchen BTW. I hate my house more and more each day, but since we want to sell in a year I have to wait until the next house.
