Has anyone tried more than one toddler carrier? I know everyone here seems to love Tula, but has anyone who owns a Tula compared it to a Kinderpack or ABC toddler carrier?

A friend from high school swears by the Kinderpack and carries her 2 and 4 year old boys in them.
Can I practice wrapping with a woven with a stuffed animal? (Large.) Or do I need more weight?
You can practice with that.
I watched a bazillion YouTube videos before I got started and I moved very slowly, so my first back carry was perfect. I was so intimidated the first couple weeks that I broke out in a (lovely hormonal postpartum) sweat every time I put the baby on my back. That explains all the tank tops in my pictures.
Do you have a woven already? If not, a helpful, though unnecessary, feature is rails of different colors so you can easier identify what needs to be tightened up.
I have a Didymos Iris woven. Rails? They confuse me.

Holy crap! I didn't read thru, but if it hasn't been said before… @ojo is a wrap goddess! And the twins look so flipping cute when you wear/wore them both omg!
Ok, to the point: I have the beco gemini and DH and I love love it. I appreciate that it's versatile and will grow with DD (wear baby on your front, side/hip, or back) and that the baby can be forward facing when age appropriate, and inward facing when tiny. There's a neck support, and the base where their legs rest has these little flaps that snap inward for an infant setting or widen for when baby is older.
I never tried to nurse in it, but I'm not so sure how that would work, although I suppose it's possible!
I love that it's easy to take on and off, machine washable, and doesn't need an infant insert. When we used it on DD at like 2 weeks old she just snuggled down in there and you couldn't tell there was a little person in it lol
Ours was a gift but I think it's like $150 on amazon.
@awinter, this one uses ring slings with a long wrap to make for a tandem poppable carry. I have to try this. It looks much easier than the one in the other youtube video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iMGAdpVIHw
Does anybody else use backpacking type carriers? We've been using a Kelty FC1, but now that ds is in the 25 pound range I've been eyeing Deuters. I tried on a Deuter Kid Comfort III at the consignment store and it was NICE!!!
We just got an Osprey Poco carrier with our REI 20% coupon. We've only taken it out for one short hike so far, but it was fantastic and DD seemed to really enjoy being in it. She's still only about 17 pounds though.
Just got this Tula in a trade for my easycare rainbow. I think I'm going to have to sell it to fund a new wrap I'm coveting though. Why can't I just hoard everything??
We have a Moby, Ergo, Lillebaby, and a Mei Tai. I bow to twin moms who are in to tandem babywearing... I love wearing one so far but I think wearing both is beyond my current abilities.
Our favorite right now is probably the Lillebaby. Easy on and off (no long fabric ties), good back support, and no infant insert required. Once we get past the need for the insert I think I'll like the Ergo. My current 2nd favorite is the Mei Tai. The Moby is good for snuggly babies but mine always seem to slide into the slumped c-position so I worry about suffocation.

Joshua Roses?
I would probably fall in a mud puddle the first day I wear it! I swear one of these days I'm going to get something all over the white in my pink zz.

Did you already say what wrap you are coveting?
It's Joshua Roses dyed light blue. It's a half standard.
I'm getting the new Didy Jade triblend. It's so pretty and I really try a triblend!

Would anyone like to recommend the best baby carrying option for me? I mentioned a few pages back that I have a Moby and an Ergo - the Moby is great now, but for anything longer than a leisurely trip through Target, I think he's starting to get a bit heavy for it. The Ergo, he just seems uncomfortable in. I can't tell if he feels squished, or if his legs are too short and he feels like they're spread too far, or what? It's a bit awkward on me, too - the waist band feels like it sits too high, but if I adjust it to where I think it should sit, then he feels like he's sitting too low.
So, about me - Tall - 5'10", long torso, large bust I'm about an 18/20 on top, so anything that wraps needs to be long between my height and my not-slimness.
About my kid - He's tall, too, and skinny as all heck. He's only 15 lbs at 7.5 months. He's not super snuggly, but he enjoys being carried. He does tend to fling his head back when he's tired of being in the carrier, so something secure is nice.
I'm tempted to try the Ergo 360, but it's kind of expensive...for that money, I'd like to look at a Tula, even if it is less versatile. I'm going to a babywearing group next week, it would be good to maybe have some focus on what I'd like to try.
ETA: A video to show it in real life, with the added option of using the car as an assist when you're out and about: www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_CPuuezolg
Ahh this is so smart! I may have to try it tomorrow!
I have a lillebaby, not the complete, though. We've had it & used it since early on. We used the infant insert for awhile.
He LOVES facing forward, but we try not to do it too much. We don't use the carrier much now, but I want to master the back carry, because I think that will be the best one for this age - forward facing, but more comfortable than a front forward facing.
I think I would be better off with a wrap - I have a super short torso and a 16/18, but the lillebaby isn't uncomfortable.
Here's us using the carrier for the first time at 3ish weeks:
This is about 7 weeks, still with the infant insert:
Also, OMG my ovaries are about to explode as I am looking through all these newborn pictures!
I would take your Ergo to the babywearing meeting. They should be able to help you troubleshoot. Since you like the Moby have you considered a woven wrap? They are more versatile than stretchy wraps and allow for back carries. You may also want to check out a mei tai. Good luck. I hope you find something that works for you.
I didn't read the previous replies, sorry. Anyone have any advice as to which carrier to use on an airplane. It will be a long-haul flight.
I have an Ergo and a Boba wrap. I'm willing to buy another. I like the Ergo, but it's not comfortable sitting. I'm also not great at wrapping the Boba and I would like the ease of something that's one-piece or that clips on and off.
She's put on a lot of weight in the past few months, and weighed 16.5 lbs at 4.5 months (3 weeks ago).
I don't really know if that's heavy or not. She seems huge compared to all the HK babies, and she was a peanut for a while. I'd like to think she'll slow down a bit, but who knows?
I have seen a Baba Sling here in HK. Is that comparable? I was thinking that a sling is the way to go. I will gate check a travel stroller.

ErinExpat I would suggest a ring sling too. It's easiest to get B in and out of, especially when it's just us. I haven't seen any for sale here but you could probably have one shipped by an Etsy seller. I bought mine on Etsy and I think it was only about US$35.
I'm not well versed in all things carrier related, so possible dumb question to follow!
I recently purchased a Maya Ring Sling, DS is nearly 6 months old. There was a card that came with the sling that shows several different holds.( similar to the instructions here www.mayawrap.com/MayaWrapBabySlingInstructionsLowRes.pdf ) Some holds say 0-3 months, 3-6 months or 6+ months. So if DS is 6 months, should I not hold him in one of the 0-3 month positions? I think he'd like tummy to tummy, but it's under 0-3.
We use an Ergo Sport. We mainly use it on vacations so we don't have to bring a stroller around. It's pretty nice to strap the kid to my back and grab our luggage and go when we get to the airport. DH will wear her too. Baby is 20 months and getting heavy but it's not so bad with an Ergo. She's 30lbs.
Only on sale today or until they sell out (the shorter ones are gone). Plus to a long one is you could likely to a ruck carry on your back if you get brave.
Reading this thread makes me want a ring sling real bad.
I only use two carriers right now: the Ergo for long hauls and naps, and the ring sling for short trips and when I want to look nice (my ring sling is pretty, while my Ergo is kind of ugly). I really like the ring sling and have used it with DD right from birth (I only bought it when DS was about 6 months).
Totally enabling, but I do find the ring sling works for everything my Ergo doesn't.
