Frankly I don't know how anyone else could handle more than what you do. I have a pretty similar schedule, and I am basically in bed WITH the baby by 9 so he can doze off and nurse to sleep. I DGAF if doing that is creating a bad habit, but what it allows me is some time laying down decompressing while getting to watch some TV while the baby falls asleep.

Normal! I am only on week 2 back to work, and I am realizing it sucks. LOL. I spend most of my night prepping for the next day, and then I am in bed by 9:30.
That's rough. I work 8:30/9am - 5/5:30pm and almost never bring work home with me (although one day next week I will have to work late, but that happens maybe twice a year!)
Evenings are *my* time. I could never do what you do! Granted, I'm not making a NYC salary but work/life flexibility is more important to me than that at this stage of my life (for that matter, ANY stage of my life)!
I think part of my laziness feeling is because on the 5:15 ferry, one guy turned to another and said "this is the slacker ferry. Everyone here had to leave work at 5 on the dot to be on this ferry."
I LOVE being on the slacker ferry!
To make you feel like the overachiever you are, this is for you. Please note the takeout and the coffee mug full of wine. #reallyfeslackaholic
The commuting time is a huge part of it. I am on maternity leave, but when I go back... I work in a low paying field and don't need to work beyond an 8hr day, but the freaking 1hr commute each way sucks the life out of me.
This whole thread is scaring me. I had a hard enough time doing it with just J, I have no idea how I will do it with three. I will probably just.lose my mind. And if I get stuck with some awful project when I get back from maternity leave I will just cry. The entire time I was working between J and these babies I had to work on awful cases. As soon as I had the babies my boss told me we are getting.g the cases I love to work on. I bet they are finished when I get back

I hate that I pay my nanny an extra 2 hours pay for my commute. Also why daycare doesn't fit our lives $28 a day plus $6 transit. Ridiculous.
Dw needs to walk out the door of her 9-5 job at 4:45 in order to make it to daycare for their 6pm close.
You're awesome. It's normal to crash after putting the kid to bed, crave "me time", and never get enough sleep.
Walking home = exercise, IMO.
Our house is a mess. We practically live out of laundry baskets. And I don't get nearly enough sleep. But that time from when DS goes to bed to when I go to bed is sacred. I rarely work from home now. And if work ate into that time on a regular basis, I would lose it.
You're doing a wonderful job holding it all together.
