yeah ALERT is basically a brainwashing camp although I don't know that the Duggars are sending their boy for being in trouble. At this point I think it's kind of just something for them to DO and if their older brothers did it the younger ones may be interested.
I wish they'd bring the Bates show back, that family interests me
Yes! I never knew it was on the first time, so I didn't watch it! Is it available online anywhere that you know of?
The one thing I will say is that the bates do seem to truly care about each other. They seem more genuine than the Duggars. But they still buy into the cult
Wow...I did not realize that this could be streamed in full on Netflix. Looks like I know what I will be watching once I am done with Orange is the New Black.
And...
Thanks to this I am now binge-watching the show on Netflix... Thankfully, DH is away for training, so I don't have to compete with him for TV control.
I can't get past the fake mashed potatoes and rolls.
If I were cooking for that many that shit wouldn't be homemade. I feel like even Rachael Ray would throw up her hands at some point and call bullshit
Every day? Yeah, cooking for 20+ is a lot of work.
For a week? With a real kitchen? I could do it. I've run a car-camping kitchen for 20+ for a couple week long events a few times now. It's work, but it can be done.

not with those kids I wouldn't. She looks exhausted half the time but too prideful to ever be anything less than patient and happy looking. I have no doubt that Anna can't be that much of a Pollyanna.
Point taken - I have no kids, so I have no idea how they'd impact the ability to cook for large groups. I figure if I can cook for 20+ in a camp kitchen, though, it might offset the whole childcare thing...
(no running water or electricity in a camp kitchen, so it is a bit more challenging than a regular kitchen)
I think the surprise is the family coming a day early. If Anna was pregnant, she wouldn't be finding out on the phone. If Michelle was, they would tell Josh & Anna in person since they're about to come over for dinner. They wouldn't show Erin Bates because she miscarried and I think the timing is off for her sister Priscilla.
They updated that Josh and Anna special to add Marcus. At the end Anna mentioned how they weren't trying and was fully okay with only having 3 kids. Josh wasn't smiling though.
I didn't think "not trying" was an option. I thought they were always trying because God loves babies.

I think because of their religious beliefs, "not trying" = "we aren't having sex"
