My dad is (finally) an empty nester and I think he's planning on selling the house that he owns in the near future. He has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, the bedrooms are all bare except his and he works nights, so it's kind of a waste of a big house. (side note: I will cry to you all when this happens because my mom picked this house out.)
I don't have pictures or anything at the moment but imagine 1992 threw up in a house and then someone came in later and painted it crazy colors. There you go.
He is wanting me to come up with paint colors for the 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms upstairs. He wants it to be neutral, sellable. He suggested eggshell white and I said that was boring and dull and he could do better.
SO.. throw your best neutrals at me. I was considering a greige because it can go either way, but I want to have a few ideas for him.

We jut chose Behr Gray Squirrel and Behr Camping Tent (one step lighter than Gray Squirrel on the card, for smaller rooms that don't get natural light) and I'm obsessed with them. The perfect neutrals, IMO.
Sounds like a fun but emotional project to take on. I'd love to keep up with your progress!

An FYI on Behr paint: they're in the process of renaming and renumbering allllllll the colors. I picked up some swatches at a HD in Houston, took them to a HD in Austin to get some samples and they looked at me like I had 3 heads. They haven't had the "old" swatches in nearly a year and were flabbergasted I was able to get them anywhere. I then went back to the Houston HD to ask about it and they had no idea there were new colors. So apparently HD isn't doing a great job of rolling this out uniformly at all their stores.
Also, they can still mix any of the colors, old or new. Their computers know the recipes for all of them. It just gets confusing.
I am hoping my dad will actually PAY money for paint. My guess is he'll try and get stuff from Wal-Mart unless I drive him to Home Depot myself.
(I legit cried at the paint costs for our house since we did all Behr. His house is at least 2x bigger because he has a 2 story entry.)
Seriously! 1 gallon of paint is cheap. Many gallons gets $$ fast!
Our new house needs every surface painted (trim, doors, walls, ceilings, exterior...and apparently stair rails and cabinets, too) I cannot believe how much we've spend on paint so far. And, I still have 60% of my house to paint. I'm understanding why people walk away from houses that require a lot of painting. 'Just paint' adds up!

No joke! Then he wants to redo carpet, fix lighting, etc.
We have Edgecomb Grey (BM) in our house and get compliments all the time. It's a griege but keeps it light and airy which is great because our rooms tend not to get a lot of sunlight. It's one color up on the strip with the popular Revere Pewter.
