I never do this, but my H's aunt is in the hospital with meningitis. I don't know all of the details yet, but it sounds very serious. I think she is in the ICU and is/was unresponsive. I know she is getting treatment, but I don't know what all is happening with it. (To clarify, I know meningitis is serious. But, I have never known someone who had it. I have no frame of reference for how treatment would/should go or how someone would react to treatment.) I'll update once I know more about what is happening. I'm not sure when that will be, though.
I know she and her family would appreciate any thoughts/prayers that you can spare.
Thank you!
(I did a post with the update. But I will add it here also.)
UPDATE:
Thank you all! I appreciate it and I know she will, too.
A quick update I got from my MIL (aunt is her sister). MIL says aunt is doing ok as far as she knows. Aunt got a MRI today and it was all good. So that is a good thing. Aunt is being sedated so she stays calm and doesn't move around a lot. Now it is just a matter of waiting to see how the medication works. Aunt will likely be in the hospital for at least another 14 days.
The update makes me feel a little better than the information I was originally getting. It also explains the not responsive part of the information, I think. Hopefully the medications work quickly.
