I'm scheduled for glucose testing tomorrow morning. It's a walk-in basis so I don't have an official apt and try didn't mention if I need to fast or not. The last time I had blood drawn was the initial pregnancy drawl and I fainted bc I hadn't eaten. I'm assuming that will be more vials than tomorrow but I'm nervous about not eating. I'm going at 8:15am, so I'll have been up for 2hrs. Did you ladies eat anything? TIA!!
My instructions said not to eat within one hour of drinking the glucola. So I finished lunch at 11:30, drank it at 12:30, then had blood drawn at 1:30.
I'm assuming this is the 1 hour? Eat something small that's protein-based. My doctor recommended eggs as well (which I promptly ignored since my test wasn't until 3:30 pm). NO SUGAR. Don't be like me.
My doctor told me to eat normally before the test and have nothing but H20 during the 1 hour of sit around and wait time. I passed my test and am so relieved.
My MW said to eat something high protein and low in carbs but didn't give any time limits as to when I had to eat it by begire the test. Sounds like there's tons of variation among practices so I'd def call to find out what they want. Good luck!

My office specifically said TO eat, but not within the hour before the test. So, I ate breakfast (lots of protein; not many carbs), waited 15 minutes, drank the drink, and had the blood draw an hour later.
