We did it last night. It was a clusterfuck, as per usual. Gavin freaked out and decided it was bedtime right before we started. So H got the supplies while I put G to bed. Max ran around like a crazy person, almost tripping H twice. He knocked an egg out of the carton, and spent the next 30 minutes ripping the shell off and smudging he egg with his feet. Then he had a meltdown because H wouldn't let him stick his hands in the cups of dye. He went to bed. Jack hoarded all if the eggs, dying his, Max's and Gavin's share of eggs, mixed all of the dyes together, and dripped it all over the formerly white carpet. H spent an hour carefully coloring one egg, only to crack it putting it on the basket, and was pissy for the next half hour after that. I cleaned up.
Dh wants to stuff eggs for her to find around the house. I told him that I'd get the stuff but then it's all him. Lol. I've volunteered to take the pictures of his "great fun". She can be quite meticulous and I can see her getting mad after she pops it open, gets the prize and then it's over. We'll see how this goes.
I was planning on trying it tomorrow even though she did it at daycare already. I'm going to try using a wisk for hers.
Just make sure you have a deep enough cup. I tried that today and immediately abandoned it because the boys kept tipping over the cups, and the egg would not go far enough in .
We did it last month when Dh's family was visiting, because his mom and sister wanted to do it with Abby. I put both kids in Dh's undershirts and newspaper on the table. Caleb spent most of his time trying to eat the eggs and drink the blue vinegar. He wasn't even deterred when I let him try it.
Notice my firm grip on the cup.
This is where I decided to let him try. He said it was, "Yummy."
Trying to bite the egg with the shell on.
We'll probably let him do one tomorrow at the egg hunt, but we're not doing any ourselves.

We did it with friends. Emmy was great; her friend wanted to dump all the eggs in at once and drink them.
Don't take this the wrong way but I kind of hate how amazing you look. I mean, your hospital pictures were beautiful, and you look so great. I looked like a haggard old woman for weeks after birth.
We will be dying them tomorrow as well, and outside too! She dyed eggs with my parents and sister today. They said she did well, just got a little dye on her fingers.

Aww thank you. Maybe it is because I didn't labor? I mean, I just got to lay there while they got Luke out for me. Even though I have pain from the surgery, the meds are taking care of most of that!

You are like a magical pregnancy and postpartum unicorn.
Did you have a professional stylist do your hair?
I want to be you.
OMG you guys are making my day! Thank you!
I always laugh when people are impressed by my hair because I am the laziest hair styler ever! I take the easiest way out to style it which is why it is always curly. Here's what I do: plug hot rollers in. Blow dry hair. Put on makeup. Curlers are now hot enough to go into my hair. I use the largest size on the tops layer all around and then the medium sizes for the underneath layers after that. I get dressed, brush my teeth and make the bed. Then I take the curlers out and "headbang" a few times so the curls soften. Voila!

I'm kinda jealous looking at all these pictures. I only remember dyeing eggs once growing up, maybe since I refused to eat hard boiled eggs. Now I like them and think the colored ones are really pretty. But I'd be scared to do this project at my own house, unless outside.
