The set I'm registered for is $189.99 on amazon. It included 9 Piece Set Includes: (1)Crib Blanket, (1)Bumper, (1)Fitted Sheet, (1)Skirt, (2)Window Valances, (1)Diaper Stacker, (1)Toy Bag and (1)Throw Pillow
I just found it on ebay for 129.99 new with tags free shipping. I can't decide if I should pull the trigger and buy it or look for a cheaper set.
I'm not doing a bedding set since I won't use half of it. I plan to register/buy sheets - so maybe $10-15 a pair? My mom is making the crib skirts so I just need to find fabric. So not much at all.

I didn't buy a set because most of it was stuff I wasn't going to use. I bought some crib sheets and a dust ruffle separately on amazon. The dust ruffle was like 20 bucks, and the crib sheets were about 20 each (I'm trying the quick zip crib sheet recommended on Lucie's list, but might just buy some regular crib sheets later if I don't like the quick zip sheets).

The plan was about $160 for a set I've mismatched together. $80 for the bedding( crib skirt, quilt, sheets), $40 for the bumper and then an additional $15 for coordinating sheets b/c I didn't like the ones that came with the set.
I was planning on a lot more at first b/c the first set I liked was through PBK, but the crib skirt has been back-ordered since January so I finally cancelled and went with Plan B. After budgeting for a PBK set, what I did spend was chump change.
I think it depends. I've heard most people don't use all that stuff and I know the quilt and bumper are for me/for show. I bought blackout curtains so I wouldn't do valances and I wouldn't use the diaper stacker or toy bag but you could re-purpose the fabric for something else ( add that detail to curtains or something).
Not much. I'm too cheap to spend more on my infants bedding than I would on my own, especially since it doesn't even include comforters! I think I spent about $20 on fabric for a crib skirt I'm sewing myself. And then I bought 2 regular sheets and a zipper sheet set with extra top zip-off layers to make middle of the night sheet changes easy. So, total...probably about $60ish.
About $80-90 with tax. We're spending it all on crib sheets since we don't need a skirt with our crib and won't use a crib blanket/bumper/diaper stacker/toy bag at all. I think bumpers are about to go the way of the drop-sided crib.
I'm going to attempt to make my own crib skirt and curtains (we'll see if I ever get around to that), so I'll hopefully end up just buying crib sheets. But even making that stuff will cost money. All of the materials cost money.
My stepmother always makes a cute quilt to whatever theme I like. Her quilts are always so pretty.
Really I just get few sheet sets and a few mattress protectors. This time though I am going to buy a skirt. I did not like the one my SL made. It did not fit right.

For DD we did the whole set - valence, bumper, comforter, diaper thingy etc. I won't do it again. It's a GIANT waste of $$ and then you have all that crap to store when they aren't using it.
Get a bunch of sheets and a mattress you can wipe down. I didn't even end up using the ultimate crib sheet as much as I thought (my crib's slats weren't standard so it ended up sitting in there funkily.
We're not getting a set, but we are having a family member make a quilt, and my goal is to sew a crib skirt. I'm thinking $50-$75 on fabric and then whatever normal sheets cost.
The bedding set we registered for is about $160 or so and comes with a fitted sheet, comforter, crib skirt, and blanket. Other than the crib skirt and sheet, I really don't see us using the rest of it until we convert his bed to a toddler one.
However, I'm super picky about bedding and love the set we found. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it if I found it for a great deal. I say go for it!
I'm likely just going to get sheets and a skirt, but I'm kind of in love with some Etsy crib sheets that are like $40 each, lol. I'll probably get 3-4 of those.
I fell in love with some Aden & Anais crib sheets that are $40 each. So far they've been sitting on my registry while I hem and haw about the price.
Not much, because half of that stuff is a death trap anyway.
LOL.
From perusing Etsy and drooling over everything, I got conditioned into thinking that $300 was the right amount to spend on a bedding set. Ha! I'm now just doing sheets and then taking the adorable fabric I fell in love with and getting a crib skirt and maybe a pillow cover for a rocking chair or some other accents to match. I speak as if we actually have a crib or a rocking chair (or room to put them in) but that's neither here nor there. I'm definitely not doing a bumper.

I am just doing crib sheets and a breathable bumper if necessary. Diaper stackers seem annoying. I just used a basket. Even once she was big enough to use the toddler bed, the crib comforter was a little too small to stay on well and I preferred using slightly bigger blankets that I could tuck in. I didn't like the way the crib skirt looked with the crib.
We aren't planning to get a set or do much of a "theme", but have our eye on coordinating sheets, changing pad covers, and a crib skirt from Land of Nod. Oh we might get the blanket too for on the rocker or on the floor.
No idea on window treatments and if we do end up feeling like we need a bumper we will pick up a breathable one after she is here.
I got bedding from Land of Nod so it's on the pricier side. I got two fitted sheets, a comforter, a crib skirt, and a flat sheet and pillowcase for later. I still think it's nice to have the matching comforter for when I turn it into a toddler bed later, even though you don't use it right away. I don't consider curtains and other stuff that doesn't go on the bed to be bedding.
I spent more than I should have---I think a little over $200 for two sheets, a crib skirt and a changing pad cover. I fell mad in love and so did DH and I have to say it really is perfect!
ETA: I got it from Dwell Studio which is pricy anyways.
I think I spent about $170ish? I'm not quite sure. I found a set that I loved. It came with 2 fitted sheets, crib skirt, diaper stacker, blanket, valance, and wall decor. I will use every piece from the set though I am making the valance into pillows.
