I just received a packet of forms to fill out before my first prenatal visit. One of the forms is titled "Information About You Needed For Your Baby's Birth Certificate"
Now, I know I'm a dirty hippy, but I think the stuff on this form is slightly insane.
They want from each of us (is this really the government's business?): - Years of education. - Race/ethnicity. - How we are expecting to pay for the birth.
Additionally, they want to know DH's occupation and place of birth, but don't ask about my occupation or place of birth. I guess that doesn't matter because I'm a woman.
It's weird you got that before your first prenatal visit. Is it really just for the OB/hospital? I didn't get any birth certificate papers to fill out until after my daughter was born and I don't think they asked most of those questions.
