I am debating these two options: these are my dark cherry cabinets with the light gray tile. I will go with a light glass or mosaic backsplash and bluish gray light paint. Debating the granite colors: blue pearl (darker)versus the lighter one.

Have lots of natural light. A window over sink and then two huge windows in the breakfast area (where one window is right next to cabinets). Attached is the floorplan where you can see the layout. Also attached is same floorplan with lighter granite (living room view into kitchen is dark bc they didn't put in lights in living room, I will have two ceiling fans in mine)
I like the second option better! My cabinets are a similar color and my granite is only a few shades lighter(than my cabinets) and to me, it's not enough contrast.

Do you have that stove set up?! Can I move in with you and cook for you?!?! LOL, that is my dream!!!
With that plan and that natural light, I'm all about the lighter granite. Is that the back splash already in? We definitely have the same cabinets and I LOVE them - you will too!!! I popped with a light to medium (more medium) green/teal after seeing it in an open house with the same combination but I'm digging your combo with the lighter granite. With the natural light, it's a definite to keep it light. I'm excited for you!!!!
P.S. Granite is super easy to keep up. Just be careful on the first bottle of wine you put down on it. After moving in, my friend and I, well we "placed" a bottle down and the entire thing shattered. We weren't used to the strength of granite...or something, I don't know but thought I'd warn you should you too be out of a bottle of wine when you first move in.
Yes but I'm doing stainless!
Puhlease come cook for me!!!! I offer free rent in exchange! :-)
Thanks. I really love the blue pearl but I'm afraid it's too dark which makes me sad, oh well
Yea I had granite in my old house (white with black spots). I never treated it or sealed it or whatnot, oops
