I can't remember who it is. I have no idea why I just thought about this but I did. I'm just curious what makes you think that they are fooling readers since they actually live in the house. I'm not asking to be snarky at all, I promise - I'd just like to hear your spin (or anybody else's) on it.
I'm probably not the person your thinking about, but I know they only do projects on about 1/2 of their house. They've talked about it before. There are several rooms that are completely untouched. I also don't think they do things as cheap as they say they do. OK maybe after the freebies they were sent from this person, or the awesome discount they get at this website for the advertisement, it might be that cheap, but how about showing your viewers "This is what it would cost if we weren't bloggers with thousands of viewers a day and we didn't have perks"
what rooms are currently untouched? sunroom, storage/eventual play room...?
I believe they have made mention of different areas that they haven't done anything with other than these rooms. I stopped going to their blog a few months ago so it is possible that they have changed this.

but it's usually small things, like not spending a ton of time/money on the guest bath because it's the guest bath. it's functional and there are other spaces that they actually use everyday that they want to focus on more. don't we all have spaces like that in our homes? things at the bottom of the list after everything else gets done?
idk. i don't want to white knight for them because i'm pretty neutral on their blog/decor choices/etc, but i also don't get the intense dislike that seems to come up here.
