Gunner did a serious #1 on our couch yesterday and I didn't catch it. It sat there for a couple hours. I tried to clean it, but I can't get the smell out. I have taken the cover off the cushion and am going to wash it, but I am not hopeful. We have been thinking of getting a new sofa anyway, so this might be it.
ANYWAY, does anyone know of any place with sales on furniture. We are middle of the roaders as far as price goes.
The Old Cannery in Sumner has a huge selection & seems to have sales a lot. My sister got one there years ago & it has held up really well. They are super hard on things too. I've never purchased anything there myself, as everything is really traditional & our style isn't, but have only heard good things about them.

Shockingly, the cover came through the wash okay. I've thoroughly vacuumed the couch and wiped the whole thing down with vinegar, sprayed it with febreeze and lysol, and have the other two cushions in the wash now. We have been talking about getting a new couch for a couple years now, but we really don't have the money for it right now, so if we can get the smell out, I'd like to wait. But, I will not have a stinky sofa. It's gross and embarrassing. I take naps on it and when we have guests, they sleep on it. Fingers crossed that I can get it back to good.
Elsa used to have a problem with her sphincter not being able to tighten so every time she relaxed she peed (thank god we found meds that work!) I found that baking soda on the cushions works really well to draw the moisture out and then neutralize odors. If it was really bad I would dump a bunch on the cushion, leave it a few hours, vacuum it up and repeat several times.
We just got a new couch at Macy's and I really like it.
