Yeah, I'm totally a "rip off the band aid" parent but I couldn't do Jermy's thing. I think I remember she just mashed down on it once she sees it's close to the surface to help it pop through, but I know my babies would have FREAKED if I did that.
G screams like I'm pulling his teeth out when I try to brush them as is, I can't imagine how he would react to teeth brushing if sometimes when I put something in his mouth, I pushed down and made his teeth pop through.
We give Tylenol during the day and Advil at night. Camilia in between. Seems to work best for us. I also have those little netting things you're supposed to put fruit in, we put ice cubes in instead, DH runs it under water before he gives it to her which she seems to like better.
And she she loves to chew on wash cloths or the teething bunny.
Some people prop up the crib matress slightly for a better sleep but that never worked for us.
The closest I came to Jermys method was buying her a few wood toys but she won't chew those so it was back to plastics and ice.
Sonrisa, I laughed! I thought you were being sarcastic! !
For realz?
Yep, they're miserable because of the pressure caused by the teeth trying to break through the gums. So she speeds it up to give relief sooner. I just couldn't do it, I was tempted at some of the worst teething but Im too squeamish to follow through.
Works like a charm. I did it with all of E's teeth except her molars and her canines, and she was an awesome teether. F was too strong and wouldn't let me. He was a horrendous teether - fevers, earaches, diarrhea, etc. With E, it was like a minute of screaming with a drop or two of blood, and I would dose her with Tylenol and a couple of teething tablets as soon as I was done and she'd literally smack her gums and go "Ahhhhhh."
