I assume it was because of the harsh winter we had. Several neighbors have them as well and theirs haven't bloomed, either. I had three little flowers and that was it.
I am still waiting to see if ours will bloom we barely have any buds of any kind on it right now. I haven't seen anyone else's bloom so there may still be hope.
I am not expecting anything given how cold it was but am still keeping my fingers crossed.

Mine were more sparse than usual this year. The branches I cut in February to bring in to force to bloom were lovely, but those that had to bear the remainder of winter were far less impressive.
Mine bloomed later than usual. I hacked them down a few years ago and this is the first year they're really worth looking at.
I'm in suburban Philly and they're at their peak currently compared to most years when they bloom in late March/Early April. My pussy willows are a few weeks late as well, but my ornamental cherry and Jane magnolia are on schedule. My maples, and the allergies they trigger, are also on schedule.

My ornamental cherry isn't doing much yet. I can't wait for it to bloom. I love those pretty pink flowers. My bradform pears are blooming now (ick) and the maples.
stephm0188 It finally warmed up enough that the forsythia are "blooming" in my neighborhood. Mine has like 10 blooms on it and they look totally sad. Most in the neighborhood are in the same boat. Just a few blooms on some big shrubs (mine is about 5 ft tall and 6 ft wide).
I was planning on cutting it back anyway this year so I guess I can do tat now since I don't have to wait for the blooms to end.
