Northwest Suburb of Minneapolis here. I have 2 kids and like wine, word games, outdoors, running. I am a leader of a big, very social women-only (mostly moms) running group, too, so if running is a common interest of yours, PM me and I can hook you up! I've made a TON of friends this way and we do more than just run. We do girls nights out, have coffee, play dates with the kids, etc as well.

I am in the Lehigh Valley in PA...an hour-ish north of Phila. I am divorced, and my life pretty much revolves around my cat and my dog. I read a lot. No kids...which is a relief because I am SO GLAD not to have to co-parent with my XH. I am a nurse. I work every weekend.

I'm about an hour and a half away in Bryan/College Station.
I don't end up in CS often but I pass sometimes on my way to Houston. I take 290 every couple of months or so.

Bacon 5k? Warrior Dash? I am 2 hours NW of the TC, but grew up there. I will be doing both of these and Old Glory Runin Cold Spring. Married, 2kids.
I have not done those races before and they aren't in the plans as of now...I am doing on in Georgia later in the year, so I am trying to stay light on the other races to save money ;-)

I'm in the south metro. Are you referring to MOTR? If so, I'm in it too and love it! I've met some great friends through it.

Nope, not MOTR although I do know lots of people who are in that as well including my SIL. My group is MRTT, which is similar yet very different. It is a free group and not formally coached. Very member driven and casual. We have about 1000 chapters nationwide. My chapter is about 300 members (ranging from walkers to marathoners) and we do several group runs per week to try and accommodate as many schedules as possible. We also do lots of other gatherings and have way too much fun! Like you, I have met some really great friends through it!

I was a runner, but now have persistent IT band issues that have sidelined me. How fast is your group? Would there be a place for a slow/short distance runner? It's my goal/dream to be able to run again by the end of the year (I've run the Long Beach and Pasadena half marathons before), although I don't know how likely that will be.
There are several chapters in the TC area and I only know my own very well, but there would DEFINITELY be a place for a slow or short distance runner. In fact, typically during our biggest group runs, we have at least a handful of people jogging or even walk/jogging. We really do have women of EVERY pace and fitness level. If you'd like to know more, PM me! I answer any questions and I can direct you to the chapter nearest you.
I know there are quite a few of us in the bay based on the posts requesting info on our area from visitors and people who are moving here.... We need to step up our gtg game!
You and I are the only two claiming SF/Bay Area affiliation on this thread. I find that somewhat surprising.
We should step up our GTG game. I feel like MM is not as GTG-focused as other boards.
I would definitely be down for a GTG once I move out there in June.
I'm on the west side of Los Angeles, brand new here and would love to make some new friends! I have 2 daughters (3.5 and 10 months) and I enjoy booze and yoga. And reading, too, if anyone knows of a good book club!
I'm on the west side as well - I mostly post on MM Moms but have been lurking here and on ML for a while. However, given everything that's happened recently, I totally understand if that's sketchy! I'm looking for some new friends too, but have lived in LA for a while. DS is 7 weeks (tomorrow), and I also have a super cute DH and dog. I love reading, but haven't been finding much new stuff recently!

I would love to meet up with you ladies! As of Saturday, I am officially a SF resident. I don't start my new job until May 5th so am flexible for lunch or happy hour.
