Right now we have smaller mirrors....one frameless that is a different shape that we chose intentionally for the main bath, and one small, cheap one in the master because there were no mirrors at all when we moved in.
I have no idea what we will end up with in the master bath when we redo it but there is very little in a bathroom that I think needs to be reflected, so I kind of like smaller mirrors.

We have one big one in both bathrooms.
The downstairs bath will be replaced with a framed smaller mirror after our reno. The upstairs one will be replaced by two in-wall medicine cabinets with mirrored fronts.

We have smaller, framed mirrors in all of the bathrooms. Our old house had the huge mirrors that were not framed or decorative and covered most of the walls. While I liked having the bigger mirror, the smaller ones that we have now look nicer.
I don't automatically hate the big wall covering mirrors. The one at my mom's house makes sense to me, and I love it. There is only one sink that is slightly offset to one side, and it leaves enough room for someone to be putting on makeup/doing their hair/whatever, while the sink is free for brushing teeth/shaving/washing hands.
The master bathroom at our old house was so small that the big mirror seemed like overkill, since two people didn't even fit in there at the same time. lol It also reflected the doorway and room so strangely that it made it seem more cluttered and even smaller.

In one we have a big old full wall mirror. In the other we have a largish framed mirror.
When we redo the master bath, we'll probably put in a largish framed mirror, but it won't take up the whole wall since we're putting in a tall linen cabinet.
