Anyone have to take 3 hour glucose test?

Apparently I failed the 1 hour glucose test by 10 points. I took it in the evening and was told not to fast. I ate an hour or so before they test so I think I might have screwed myself.

Anyone fail the 1 hour but pass the 3 hour?

Also, what am I in for? I know its a fasting test and I heard the drink has twice the sugar? Can I not eat certain things a couple days before?

My midwife will not call me back so I need to know!!

With mila I failed the one hour and passed the 3 hour.

Three hour was hell. Go in, drink the drink. Blood draws every hour.

During the first hour I felt so sick. Second hour I was fine. Third hour I got shaky (my blood sugar had dropped to 56 - I took a diabetic monitor with me and tested my own sugar every hour so I knew immediately if I passed or not).

Take a snack for after. There is def a chance you could still pass!

Also - yes the drink was so sugary, which is why I felt so sick the first hour.

I cut out juice after I failed the one hour. I had been drinking a ton. I never added it back into my diet during her pregnancy after that.

kdrake8 Did you feel sick after the test was over and you had a chance to eat? Debating if I will be able to come into work in the afternoon.

I did with M. It sucked. The drink was more concentrated, I felt like shit the whole time. But I passed it (just barely).

I don't remember cutting out anything in the days before.

I failed the 1 hour with Emmy and passed the 3.

I heard all these horror stories about the massive headache I was going to have and, being prone to migraines, I was really freaked out. Luckily, I never developed one and was just fine.

The worst is you show up, they draw blood. You drink the stuff and wait and hour and they draw blood from the other arm. An hour later, they go back to original arm and draw blood. Then an hour later, they go to second arm and draw there. So 4 pokes, 2 in each arm. I was pretty bruised afterward but nothing too painful.

Bring something to do. I graded papers, read a book, and played on my phone. Good luck!

Oh and even though I felt fine, I don't think I could have worked afterward bc i had a major sugar crash and just wanted to sleep afterward.

I failed the 1 hour by ONE point and had to take the 3 hour which I passed w/flying colors. I did not change anything. The 3 hour was not as horrible as I had imagined it to be. I took my kindle and read while I waited. Definitely take something to eat w/you for when you are done. I felt fine for the most part but at the end I needed food STAT! I went to work and did fine.

I failed the hour and passed the 3 hour, and yes, the drink is nasty. I hate artificial fruity stuff, and this was some orangey junk. It was like drinking the syrup for Orange Crush. It was really hard to get down and keep down, but the knowledge that if I threw up I'd have to do it again kept me going.

Once I was done drinking it, I felt okay but definitely needed something to eat when we were done.

I had to do a modified diet for the 3 days before/ I think you can look it up online for general guidelines. It sucked so much! Sitting there for 3+ hours starving and getting blood drawn every hour. OMG I better pass the 1 hr this time. Good luck!! I passes the 3 hr no problem it just sucked

They called me back and it sounds like I just can't eat after midnight the night before. I can have a late night snack as long as its protein.

I'll definitely bring food for afterwards! I'm hoping I'll be able to work because I have a call I have to attend that afternoon. Fingers crossed!

Yeah 3+ hours in the waiting room sounds awful. I think I'll just bring my laptop and work or try to up my posts on PB.
