I've had it happen within a few hours and I've also had it happen like a day later. Anything past 24 hours I'd think it is more along the lines of a virus.
I had a chicken cesar salad at lunch. It was a prepackaged salad in a food stand at work.
I feel awful, but I'm hoping it's from the salad and not the stomach flu.
If the chicken was bad I would think you would already be sick but maybe it was the dressing? The stomach flu would probably get worse within a few hours of feeling off, so hopefully you're just a little off and will be back to normal soon!
When I had it, I had a salad at lunch time. Dinner I felt nauseous and I woke up at midnight puking and diarrhea so maybe 12 hours to projectiles for me.
I felt it fairly quickly. I've only had it twice but both times it happened within a few hours. Now people are going to come in here and tell me it wasn't food poisoning, right? The only reason why I know it was is because both times I had someone with me that had the same thing/shared and was violently ill as well.
I spent the night throwing up. I'm feeling better this morning, not puking anymore but definitely feel like I spent the night throwing up.
I attempted to call in this morning, but my boss threw a fit because she was planning on being gone. So now I'm sitting at work, after no sleep, with a face covered in popped blood vessels.

Oh no! I'm so sorry. What a crappy thing for your boss to do. Makes me kinda hope that is a stomach bug and she gets it!
Bad turkey eaten on Sunday late afternoon/night took 4 of us out around 1 pm Monday afternoon. There was a bunch of people at the party but when about 4 of us all got violently ill around the same time with the "same weird virus"- we put it all together that it was food related. And I mean violently ill - I had no symptoms up until I vomited and then I couldn't stop. Folks who weren't ill, weren't ill at all.
when I had salmonella, I didn't get antibiotics. Doc said it was better for young/healthy people to just work through it. But I did get morphine and that's kinda better.
