I am thinking about taking a full day off after my a/s. H and I talked about possibly taking the day to go have lunch and register afterwards. Is it too early? Also, when did you/are you having your shower? Thanks!
I think 20 weeks is a good time. I pry will around 16-18 but my showers will be before 30 weeks since I have twins. We also aremt finding out gender so wont have to wait for A/s.
Nope, not too early. We registered around 21w. Just keep checking up on your registry in case anything gets discontinued (this is especially bound to happen if you register for seasonal items or clothes).
I'm only having one small shower, and it will occur when I'm 34.5w. This is later than I would like, but it is what it is. My H and I mainly registered to get the completion coupons - we'll go hog wild on purchasing when those arrive.

We registered after our anatomy scan and I'm having my shower when I'll be almost 34 weeks--it was going to be a couple weeks earlier but the scheduling just didn't work out.

Not too early - my registry has been ongoing as I discover new things or change my mind, lol.
I'm having an "absentee shower" (flame or not, I wasn't even supposed to know about it until someone spilled the beans and by then invites were already out) when I'm about 35 weeks. At work, showers are usually given around 35-36 weeks (I've only been here a short time, though, so I doubt I'll have one).
A lot of people start their registries around the anatomy scan. It sounds like a fun day for you and your H, especially if you are able to get in and out of the store with minimal headaches. Look through Baby Bargains and get some tips from friends (or the search function on the MM Moms board; there are several old "registry must-have" threads). I narrowed down our stroller choices, for example, ahead of time and then once my top pick worked for my tall H, we added it to the registry. The nice part is that you can get the ball rolling with your H and then update things online afterward. Have fun!
ETA: My shower will be the weekend after next, when I'm 35.5 weeks.
I'm having my second, so I didn't think id get a shower, but I made a registry "list" even before I conceived! Just for fun, and things I knew I'd need to purchase when we had the baby. Ha! I am having a small shower, so they can use it too if they want.
Not too early at all! We actually started our registries about a week before our a/s. I found it easier to register without knowing the sex yet because that way we didn't get bogged down in all the gender specific stuff. Then after we found out she was a girl, I went back online and added the few gender specific things we wanted.
As far as showers, I am due July 31 and my showers and planned for May 17, June 1 and June 7. HTH and have fun. We had a really good time registering.
I made my registry list on Amazon pretty early, as more of a private list of things to remember to buy for the baby because I didn't want a shower. My friends ended up throwing me a shower anyway, and it was at 34 weeks. Only a few people shopped off the registry, but that was fine by me because I'd already purchased most of the important items myself.
Your plan sounds perfect to me. My anatomy scan fell on Good Friday, when H and I already had off anyway. We went for the scan at 10am then immediately to BBB afterward to register. We had lunch out afterward and it was a perfect day.

I don't think it's too early. You might run the risk of some things getting discontinued, but you can always edit your registry. I wouldn't register for a lot of clothes since those get discontinued seasonally. Plus you will want to register before you get too far along and uncomfortable. It took a lot longer than I expected.
Ideally, I would have the shower around 30-32 weeks.
We registered around 18 weeks or so. We were going to look at strollers in person and ended up registering that day since we were there.
Our shower will be two months before my due date, I will be a little over 31 weeks at my shower. We wanted to do it earlier so we would have time after the shower to get everything we need and set everything up withouth having to rush. I also wanted to feel good at my shower, and not overly huge or exhausted.
I started a registry on Amazon a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to have a running list of some things other parents have loved. So I definitely don't think it's too early right after the anatomy scan. I think it sounds like a fun way to celebrate.

When you register, tell them you're due a week or two earlier. They'll send you the completion coupon earlier. At least that's how it worked back in the day.

I registered at 24 weeks. I was trying to get in on a special promotion BRU was running ( which was then extended). I had my showers at 34 and 36 weeks.
I agree with telling whomever you register with an earlier date to get your coupon earlier. Amazon let me change the date and it worked so I could complete the registry.
I started a private wish list on Amazon when I found out I was preg. After the anatomy scan I registered. I need to go into the store to actually finish my registry.

I think your plan sounds great - our a/s was on a Friday afternoon and we did the same. just be prepared to take a break if you need to. My h got overwhelmed - I had been researching everything (down to pacifiers) while he had focused in on the big stuff like strollers and car seats. By the time we got to the little things he needed a break.
Also, bowies I got my completion coupon from bbb a few days ago! Not sure if you registered there, but it's good for 3 months before/after my due date.

There is nothing wrong with doing it now. You can always get online to edit it, but I like to go in store to get it started since you get coupons and other goodies.
We registered around...23 weeks I think? My first shower (my extended family in Cincinnati) was around 31 weeks, the second was around 35 weeks (friends and J's side of the family, all here in town) and the third (coworkers) was around...37 weeks?
I started around 15 weeks. My mom is throwing me a shower at 24 weeks and sent invites at 19 weeks, so I had to get on it. We found out the sex last week, so I've been going back and adding more stuff that isn't gender neutral.
