Every week when I'm cleaning bathtubs, I wonder if I'm doing it *right*. I don't know if my mom never taught me how or if I just didn't pay attention. Regardless, please tell me how YOU clean your bathtub.
What I do:
*Run a couple gallons of hot water in the tub with drain closed *Add cleaner *Use brush to clean basin, ledges, shelves, and walls *Drain *Rinse by filling a bucket and splashing it all over *Use a clean rag to dry walls and ledges *One more quick rinse of basin to rinse down anything left by rag
I usually clean mine while I'm in it lol start from the top and work my way down with some cleaner and two different brushes (smaller one for in the grout, bigger for everything else). The girls tub/shower has only been used for baths so far so I just wipe it down after each bath.
I do it way too infrequently, but I mix bleach w/ warm water in a Tupperware container and get a sponge. I get in naked b/c there is just no other way to do it. I scrub from the top of the shower down to the drain, rinsing as I go. Like, I start on the farthest end scrub the shower wall top to bottom, rinse. Then the side wall and ledge. Then the wall w/ the faucet. Then I do the tops of the bathtub. Then I do the sides of the bathtub, back, then each side, then front. Then I do the floor. Then I take a shower when I'm done.
I normally take everything out of the shower (shampoo conditioner everything), spray everything with cleaner from top to bottom (it heads to the bottom anyway), then I take a scrub brush to it all. Rinse and repeat if needed. I probably do this like once every two weeks or so.
I scrub mine with comet. Not sure if that's the right answer.
I grew up doing it this way, works really well.
Now I don't do it often enough, but I have discovered Scrubbing Bubbles and they are amazing!! I just spray it all over, let it sit for a while and come back to rinse it off (and maybe use a sponge to scrub a little/wipe it down).
I've never done this b/c I figure I'll just still have to clean it. It really works that well? I might have to buy some.
This might be a stupid question, but can you use the shower spray in your tub? The one that you use right after a shower to help with soap scum and that stuff?
I use that between when the cleaner comes and it stays "cleaner" longer. Or maybe it's just cleaner looking.
