I'm less concerned with leaks right now as him waking up from a wet diaper. I'm sometimes worried changing him will wake him up, especially if I feed him first. If I change him first he inevitably poops during the bottle.
Just change poop so much easier!
It took many weeks for me to get over not changing her diaper at every wake up. She survived!
V decided the first order of business after being put in his crib to sleep was to take out his pacifier and toss it on the floor. Good job, kid.
I am in serious need of finding evening activities or TV for the family (me, msniq, and my mom). Sometimes we play scrabble. We can't find much TV that we agree on. Maybe we should start watching HIMYM? Lol. Anyway if you have board game, card game, or TV suggestions, please halp! She doesn't like TV that's spooky and/or violent, and doesn't really want to learn games with complicated rules (Dominion, Catan, etc. -- and yes, I know that Catan isn't that complicated).

What size are they? Snaps or snap less fitteds? I just got 3 of them in the mail and I think they will easily be my favorite diaper.
Size small...Half snap half snap less
I haven't even prepped them because I didn't like the NB ones. For some reason touching the wet diaper really bothered me and DH hated the 2 step process.
Oh darn I don't think small will fit. Thanks anyway though!
I didn't even think about the pee. Luckily nothing grosses me out and my H is grossed out by everything CD so oh well

We like Sequence and Phase 10. Too bad she doesn't like Catan - perfect for 3 people!
I'm trying to be breezy about the thread earlier where everyone was AWing the fun things their babies are doing because V isn't doing most of that, and she's older than a lot of the babies in that thread. But I'm kind of worried that she's not rolling, and she's just now starting to grab at things and isn't even doing that all that often.
I also need to figure out what to do about her sleep. Generally she sleeps well once we get her down, but getting her down for the night is always a several hour ordeal. I honestly don't think she's ever fallen asleep on her own. I've always nursed her to sleep or she falls asleep being walked around by one of us (usually in the Ergo). I know that we need to get her to fall asleep on her own but I have no idea how to do it without a lot of tears and I'm dreading it.
First paragraph: every baby's on their own timeline! VCB was only so exciting until he could sit up, at which point all sorts of fun stuff kicks in.
Second paragraph: Have you tried doing things in between nursing and putting her down? Read a book, sing a lullaby, take a bath (though this does not help VCB since he dislikes being dried off), whatever. Still, 4 months is mostly "whatever works" territory anyway.

That's why I'm trying to be breezy, but I'm like, "holy shit, babies 2 months younger than mine are doing this stuff?" But, yes, I know she's on her own timeline and she's doing great so I probably need to chill. We've actually never tried doing anything between nursing her and putting her down, but that's a good idea, I'll have to try. She's kind of.....intense, for lack of a better word and flips out when I put her down "drowsy but awake." Maybe nursing her and then doing something else soothing would help though.

At Christmas, we basically cram my entire extended family into two houses for 3-4 days. The following activities are a hit, and there are people from literally 1-90 years old:
-euchre -gin (the card game or the alcohol) -puzzles (like 500-1000 piece ones, everyone can work on them at their leisure and they're weirdly addictive) -Rummikub (which I hate but everyone else loves) -Trivial Pursuit -Catch Phrase
I basically only like non-wholesome TV so I'm no help there.

We watch a lot of pbs lol. They have some good food shows on the create channel, and there is interesting stuff on the regular pbs pretty often.
I feel like I say this every night. J initially goes to sleep with no problems. He is a pita in the middle of the night. Once he finally goes back to sleep it's at least 3- 4 hours which is nice.
This is so gross, but as a result of my horrible twin skin and it folding in on my belly button it is now horribly red and infected. I'm thinking its yeast. I have my 6w pp appt today so I'll find out then. I noticed it yesterday afternoon. Its just awful and not what I need right now. It hurts
We are watching Breaking Bad on Netflix (please please please no spoilers) and I feel like I need to go read a Harry Potter book or something to help me feel better after the last episode. I seriously don't know why I am watching this show, it is so freaking intense. BUT I CAN'T STOP.
We just started season 4 so at least we'll be done with the series in a few weeks (at our rate of 1-2 episodes a night) and my normal life can resume again.

I love that show so, so much. It is fantastic and so addictive! I can't wait to hear what you think when you get done with the series.

We did that when I was pregnant. It's so intense but sooo good.

I actually started watching it a year ago when I was pregnant with DD2, but had to quit. I get really hormonally emotional during pregnancy and I could not get past the raspberry slush thing in the first season, lol.
We've never tried Target brand. I feel like part of the reason I love cloth is because we never run out, so I want to do something that I can get via Subscribe & Save/Amazon Prime. Between me working and H's crazy work hours and a child that can't stay awake past 7 pm, errands just don't happen during the week.
Are Luvs terrible? They're pretty cheap too.
I think target does free overnight shipping with the red card.
No they ship at like seven day as slow as possible shipping with the redcard. It is very frustrating.
I think DS is shorter than what they measured at the doctor's office. It makes sense because I didn't think he could grow 3.5 inches in two months, but it bothers me they got it wrong. Or I didn't stretch him out far enough when I measured him. Brought to you by the fact that I'm staring at the play mat with the measuring stick on it.
I had my PP checkup today and had a spot that wasn't really healing on its own so the MW went at it with silver nitrate. Not the most comfortable procedure in the world. At least now I feel like less of an asshole for essentially laughing at any requests for sex. C is normally super easy to get back down MOTN but she is fighting like crazy tonight. Fingers crossed this current quiet period sticks.
I think I'm letting all of this (misremembered) stories about people's kids STTN by DS' age get to me. It should be normal for an 8 week old to still wake up 2-3 times a night. He just stopped being considered a newborn!
That should be my rant today.
yeah, I can't handle reading about other babies R's age that sleep more than 3 hours at a time. and really, 3 hours is our max. lately it's been averaging closer to 2 hours. or some nights, 60-90 minutes which results in 4-5 wake ups .
Before, I'd sort of side eye moms who had this intense sleep jealously, like "get a grip. babies be babies. you knew they'd wake up all the time!" now I get it. I'm all "where the eff are these magic 8 week olds that sleep 5+ hours at a time and where can I trade in my defective model??!" comeuppance, party of one.

I had to have the same thing done for the same reason, and it definitely sucks. Once it healed sex did get better though. My desire to do it is nonexistent, but when I do it doesn't hurt. So there's that.
AJ got up roughly 45 mins ago. Our usual back to sleep routine didn't work, so I fed him. Now I'm praying he goes back to sleep and trying to figure out what I can cut from my morning routine so I can squeeze in as much "in bed" time as possible. (Mind you I'm looking at 45 mins, max)
We are switching to disposables full time. The cost is making me want to puke but every time we switch to cloth for a day, he blows up in a huge rash. He just needs, like, a permanent coating of Desitin between constant teething poop and pee. Fuck.
i am going to pretend this won't happen to L.
she cannot use any kind of disposable. we are switching to cloth once i wash it all. 7th gen is the only thing thats ok and they SUCK at absorbency.
she got huge pussing sores from target diapers. they are supposed to be hypoallergenic and work for every other baby!
target are so cheap though. definitely try them!
Oh crap! 7th Gen diapers are currently all DS can tolerate. We just bought a big box if Target ones to try. Now I'm scared. Interestingly we haven't had any issues with 7th Gen. Maybe because we don't know better?
J has been up every hour to hour and a half. I am about it lose my shit. The only thing that puts him back to sleep is eating. There is no way he needs to be eating 4-5 times a night at 3 months old. I feel slightly guilty for telling MH that I hate J, but right now I kind of do.
J woke up at 5am. I went to go pee before getting him, and when I got back H and J were both fast asleep in my bed. I tried to scootch in next to them but baby takes up too much room. So I've been wide awake on the couch ever since. I want blackout shades for our living room!
My DD shares a birthday with your M. We are night weaning next week. Again. We night weaned a few months ago, but then I gave in when her sleep went to crap on the most recent tooth. *sigh*
Good luck tonight!
I knew they were the same age, but not that they shared a birthday. <)
Sleep has been rough around here lately. He was falling asleep three minutes after I put him in his crib, and then he figured out how to climb out, and we have never recovered.
Last night went okay. He didn't wake up until 4:30 and I held him off until 5:45. He cried about half of that time. We will see what tonight brings.
