I have a bunch of Robert Munsch books with cds, but I am looking for more stories on CD for my listening center. I am hoping for some stories that are longer - most cd's that come with books are only 2-3 minutes long.
Anyone have a good source for children's stories on CD? They don't have to come with a book...just anything entertaining for my kids who are obsessed with wearing headphones.
Do you have an iPod? I record myself reading books in garage band and send it to iTunes as an mp3 and I can put them on the iPods. Easy and free and I can do any book I want. Let me know if you have questions.
Have you checked your local library for books on CD? My system has a huge collection of them. Some have books with CDs in the back, and others are just the audio recording.
Going off of what PP suggested could you record on your computer and burn it onto a CD instead of putting it on an iPod? Most computers with CD drives have CD burners.
Yes but 3 and 4 year olds arent touching my ipod!!!
I am looking for just a good source to order stories on Cd - classic fairy tales and such. I remember having a Raggedy Ann audio story as a kid...
Well you should get your school to buy one for the kids!! Much easier than CDs
She runs a daycare, so I'm pretty sure she's the one stuck buying this stuff. Hell, I work in a school and I'm stuck buying what I need all of the time.
Do you have Lakeshore in Canada? It's a bit pricey but they have great stuff a long those lines.
-When I taught 1st grade (almost 10 years ago! Ack!!) I had a parent approach me and ask if I wanted him to read any books on tape. He had a special needs child and had been reading books on tape for years and really enjoyed it. I took him up on the offer and had him read about 20 books on tape. It was awesome! Do you know anyone who may be interested in that?
-In keeping with the PP's idea, you could use Garage Bad and then buy a cheapie non-ipod for the kids to use.
-Scholastic has CDs each month to go with 4-5 of their books. I think the CDs are $5/piece.
