1. Positives from your week? I had a dr.s appt today and my dr. said she is happy with my numbers. That was really nice to hear.
2. Negatives from your week? Nothing too negative this week, which has been nice.
3. Any recipes/food ideas you want to share? (I'll put this question in each check-in, as I'm sure a lot of us are always looking for new ideas). Not a recipe, but I've discovered my body tolerates beans really well. I'm guessing it's due to the fiber.
4. Do you have any cravings that are no-no's on the GD diet? It's not quite a craving, because I've always loved it, but I would LOVE to drink a huge glass of orange juice. I think about it more days than not. I know I could have a small amount. But I feel like that would make me want it even more than I already do. So I'm avoiding it all together.
robyn--that's awesome you made it through Easter (and eating a sugar cookie!) with all good numbers.
Bonita--what is the exfoliator you found? Do you like it?
mrsnole--I hope your stomach bug didn't last too long.
Happy May Day everyone! I'm sending you all virtual May Day baskets
1. Positives from your week? My positive stems from a negative, but I had either a really nasty stomach bug or food poisoning this weekend, and really enjoyed the break from testing!! That's so lame, I know.
2. Negatives from your week? Stomach bug totally sucked. Also, it appears after that I have returned to the first trimester? I'm nauseous all the time, I have a huge lump in my throat that won't go away that makes just the thought of food atrocious, I'm exhausted. WTH body?!
3. Any recipes/food ideas you want to share? (I'll put this question in each check-in, as I'm sure a lot of us are always looking for new ideas). I don't really have any unfortunately Between being sick, trying to finish home renovations and start the nursery and some other stressors, it's just been boring usuals around our house.
4. Do you have any cravings that are no-no's on the GD diet? Um, I think pretty much all of my cravings are GD no no's. Sonic half price shakes, Sonic blasts, Icee's and slushes, cake, fancy Starbucks drinks that previously I never would have thought twice about, donuts, pizza. I could go on and on. I swear I have a running and ever changing list in my head of all the things I want after I have the baby. Usually I'm able to admit the craving and move on, but I know once summer heat hits the ice cream/shake craving is going to cause some tears.
So I'll just share a quick update: I'm almost 37 weeks and am ready to be done! Baby is still breech...sad trombone. I have been to the chiro a couple of times and he hasn't flipped. In my heart I don't think he will. We had a long discussion with the OB about doing an ECV and I decided not to have it done. So baby will come out via CS which I am okay with. Also, my last 24 hour urine collection came back borderline and Dr would rather deliver sooner rather than later so we will have baby next week sometime--most likely on Thursday (I'll find out tomorrow). So by this time next week I will be holding my baby boy!
Good luck ladies, if you ever have specific GD questions just ask me!

I'm so sorry he won't flip for you, but yay for him coming within the week! Congratulations, you'll be holding your little boy so soon!!!
I got my NT screening done, and went to the doctor...they check the heartbeat at the NT screening, and H got to see the baby for the first time which was exciting. My doctor is extremely pleased with my blood pressure (I have HBP normally, and have been on medication for 10 years to control it), so I'm crossing my fingers it will stay normal. She did mention in third tri it has a habit of going up, but I'm hopeful for now

I'm still wanting all things bread, it's so weird because normally I'm not much of a bread eater....But this past week everything that I could think of/wanted involved bread

I don't really have any recipes/food ideas this week
4. Do you have any cravings that are no-no's on the GD diet?
See #2, lol - All I wanted this week was Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Doughnuts, Cinnamon Rolls, Bagels, and I saw some breadsticks on an Olive Garden commercial that looked probably more delicious than they really would be.
hillarywhitney - Tatcha Rice Enzyme Powder is the exfoliator. A bit on the expensive side, but it will last me quite a while (You are only supposed to use 1/2 tsp and it's a fairly large jar). I'm loving it and my skin is looking SO much better since I started using it
