I have no idea but I've considered a PNP with a bassinet attachment. I know everyone swears by RNPs but it just seems so low to the ground. Like you'd have to get up to get baby and breastfeed. I'm also super nervous that I would knock a pillow or blanket onto the baby with RNP so low.
I had DD in an Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper in our bedroom the first 4 or 5 months. It was great for middle of the night feedings.
We also had a PNP, simply because I had no idea what the difference was between everything when I registered and I received it as a gift. It's not as ideal as the ARC to have in your room. We used ours for napping in the living room, but only because we already had it. It was not a necessity, and she took just as many naps in the swing, the bouncer, on me, and in a carrier as she did in the PNP.
We did, however, use it for travel. I still have it and will likely use it to travel with LO #2. But if I didn't own one, I'm sure I could borrow one for travel purposes from a friend if I needed to.

I got one for free from a friend, so my opinion may be different!
I liked having it, especially when DD was younger. We were living in a 2 story house, and I had it set up in the living room so I wouldn't have to carry her upstairs for a nap/diaper change all the time (especially in the early days after my c-section). When we moved to our 1 story rental we packed it up and used the co sleeper for her for a few more weeks/month. When we bought & were renovating our current house, we used it for baby containment & naps. We also traveled with it - grandma's (until she bought a real crib), out of town hotels etc. It was nicer than using the hotel's PNP's which never seemed clean enough for me.
It's pretty handy for a place to sleep in your room, but if you don't plan to do that, or plan to do the RnP, you probably don't need one (at home).
We were hoping to have #1 not become dependent on sleeping inclined - don't ask why, a few friends said it was hard to break the habit - so he slept in a bassinet or PNP in our room. He hated it sometimes, so we ended up using the RnP as well.
They're useful for travel, though, if you're driving somewhere that won't have one. ILs are a flight away, so they bought their own.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
Also, if you don't mind used, these seem to come up all the time in the FB yard sale groups. I had one from a friend last time, but it's 13 years old and creaky, so we didn't keep it.

We have used ours a ton. DS is two and still sleeps in it if we travel anywhere. We have the most basic graco one, it has no bells and whistles. I found it on clearance at target for $35. I also used it as a play area in our living room when I needed him contained. The rnp is easier for travel, but they outgrow it quickly.
I bought one 2 years ago before our grandson was born. We will use the one we have in our bedroom. DH insists the baby needs to sleep in our room. I'm not a big fan of this idea.

We plan on using one for the first couple of months so the baby can sleep in our room. Then of course for travel, and I intend on using it as a place to set the baby down to play when it's older.
We didn't use it the first time around bc we were living in a condo and just didn't have the space for it, but used it for travel and now that we are in a house I plan on keeping it downstairs for naps etc. I found an arms reach on craigslist for $65 so I think I'm going to snag that for our bedroom. I can't deal with trudging back and forth across the house in the middle of the night in the beginning.

All of our family is out of town, so we used it regularly starting at around 3 weeks old. Plus it's nice to have it if you go over someone else's house and you need somewhere to put the baby. So for me, a necessity.

We're not registering for one. We'll use the RnP in the bedroom for the first few weeks/months before moving him to the nursery, so we won't need it for that, and all of our travel is by air. I may buy one for my mom's house depending on how soon we visit them, but I think it's more likely that they'll be doing all of the visiting until the kid has mostly outgrown it anyway.
I plan on getting them but more for later down the road if we spend the night somewhere or if someone babysits at their house.. We have a ranch so won't keep one in our livimg room but I know some do as a changing station. I'm also using a RNP for sleeping at first but hoping to transition to a crib soon.

The baby sleeps in the newborn napper attachment on the PNP in our room and we keep the RNP downstairs for naps, etc. The PNP we have also has a changing table attachment that we use to change diapers in the middle of the night so that's handy.

I used it in our room, but I plan on using the rnp this time. I only used it for traveling. I hoped to use it for naps when visiting family, but dd refused to nap in it or even sit in it during the day.
We don't have a crib yet, so for us it's a necessity :-). If you're not sure, then wait. You can always order one from a Amazon and have it in two days (or run to Target) if you decide you need one. It's not like they're hard to come by.
We used ours from months 4-6 in our room when the kid was too big for the RNP, but was still in our room. He still sleeps in it (2.5 YO) when we take local trips, and when he stays the night with the grands.
We mostly used our when we went away. I also used it when DS was crawling and I needed to cook as I could put it near the kitchen with some toys and talk and sing to him while he never got into anything dangerous. I would not say it is a necessity though.
If I had a bigger house, I'd get the normal sized PNP for baby to play in on occasion when it's bigger. We got one of those play gates that you can put in a hexagon shape for Dd, but it took up a lot more room.
