I can't stop that horrible "I'm starving" feeling. I've heard advice to "graze" and keep snacks around, but I can see that helping if you get hungry every hour or few hours at a time.
I'm talking about just eating a huge meal and then maybe no more than 10 minutes later feeling like I haven't eaten all day. I'm trying to eat filling foods and not empty calories. For instance, I was STARVING so I made myself a chicken breast and thigh with broccoli and a sweet potato. I had a full glass of water and then wanted something sweet so I made a yogurt/almond milk/strawberry & banana smoothie. I felt satisfied and even pretty stuffed and as soon as I was done loading my dishes into the dishwasher I became so hungry again. I know all that food is still in my stomach and I know I do not need to eat more. My stomach feels like an empty pit and eating will make it feel better, but not for long.
Anyone else have this non-stop hunger and how did you deal with it without eating food 24/7? It's becoming really hard to ignore.
I think you just keep eating, and try to avoid things like big macs. It's a phase (hopefully a short one) before you get gigantic and then are starving but can't eat more than 2 bites before feeling full.
I try to get through the time between meals with veggie sticks and other healthy snacks but sometimes, like this past Thursday week, I end up eating a full bowl of chili at 10:30am, after eating a big full breakfast at 8 am, and a granola bar at 9am. Then I had more chili at noon... And 1pm...and two tea biscuits...And a grilled cheese sandwich... and easter chocolate... Then supper...
Ok, so if this is in fact short lived before I become huge, I think I'll just stuff my face then. The hard part is to not stuff it with SHIT. I'll load up on veggies and what not when I go food shopping.
So after I wrote that post I made myself a PB sandwich. Then H asked if I could make him egg-salad so I did and made myself an extra egg and ate that. Then, there was some salad left so I made myself an egg-salad sandwich, too.
I just finished eating that and the hunger is creeping back up right now. I'm thinking I want a root beer float or something. *-) Momma mia. I'm looking at my first post as this was all within 38 minutes.
I hope this is short lived because I'm going to gain 5,000 lbs by the end of this!
I've got to run some errands and there is a DQ on the way. I might end up getting that float. ooohhh, it will be soooo good!
I eat again. I try to eat healthy snacks, like a piece of cheese, some nuts or a KIND bar, a yogurt, or some fruit. I feel like I'm eating constantly, but I'm not too concerned since I have only gained 2.5 pounds so far. I'm 12w tomorrow.
Ironically, I just woke up from a nap starving and sent my H downstairs to get me a piece of cheese, even though we are eating dinner soon.

I eat. I figure if my body is hungry then it must need fuel! I try to keep around the healthiest, most nutritionally dense items that I am currently craving (right now it's apples and cheese) so then I can eat something that sounds good instead of running out for fast food or settling for something I don't want.
I drink a lot of water and try to keep a variety of fruits and veggies on hand. I find that if I have things in pieces (almonds, cut up fruit, cheese cubes) that I can pick at, I can pace my eating. Otherwise, I am trying not to stop myself from eating - my body needs fuel between growing a human and trying to keep up with a work out plan.

I did feel like I was eating all the time but then I hit a wall all of a sudden sometime in second tri and could barely eat more than half a meal before i felt stuffed. I say keep eating as much as you need and as healthy as you can because most likely soon it will decrease

During my first pregnancy I was like that - couldn't stop stuffing my face. My problem was that I was also so freaking tired that I had a tendency to eat junk because it was quick.
Make sure you're eating healthy food, and eat when you feel hungry.
I'm incredibly jealous because nothing ever sounds good to me except maybe crackers. I'm currently hiding upstairs because DH made coffee and I almost puked when I walked out of the bedroom and smelled it. I say eat if your body wants you to eat!

I had a short phase like that. I did gain about eight pounds that month, but am now back to only being able to eat a bit here and there, and my weight has gone back to being stable. I think I was right around where you are in the second tri - I figured I was making up for feeling pukey/not hungry the whole first tri.
My bloat is also out of control again so it hurts to keep eating but I can't be satisfied. I'm so bloated my belly button has popped inside out. Didn't realize that could happen so early. The baby isn't even out of my lower abdomen yet. So I do have to watch what I eat because I puff up with certain foods like carbs.
