Hi everyone! I mostly post on ML but recently me and my husband decided to try for a baby.. we were fortunate and it was a lot quicker than we expected. My last period was on 4/1 and I tested positive on 5/1, I think we conceived around April 11, but no real way to tell. I have a doctors app next week and need to schedule a gyno appointment too. It's still really early and it has not sunk in fully. This will be our first child, so I will have a lot of question. What do I need to know?
Welcome, and congrats! It happened first cycle for us this time, too, and it was a shock!
Are you a reader? I read What to Expect When You're Expecting with my first, and although they advise you to be really cautious about basically everything, I found it helpful.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

Yes, I actually read book "what to expect before you're expecting" ha, but I def need to order this through amazon as well. Any other book recommendations?
Congrats! It's an exciting time of life! I second the Mayo Guide and also liked "Expecting Better". What else do you need to know? Maybe just that pregnancy gets way better and more enjoyable after the 1st trimester - that seems to be an almost universal rule.
Congratulations! I also recommend What to expect, and Your Pregnancy Month to Month. The other book I found really helpful for later on when you're purchasing all of that baby gear is Baby Bargains. They update the edition every few years so make sure you find the latest edition.
Lots of good recs already here. I also recommend The Panic-Free Pregnancy, because suddenly everyone will be telling you about things that will give your baby four heads - this book goes through some actual facts about what is okay and what might actually have a risk.
Congrats and welcome. I ditto the suggestions for the Mayo Clinic book, Expecting Better and Baby Bargains. I also like the weekly email updates from Baby Center.
My advice is to relax and enjoy these early exciting days. Then learn some of the basic do's/dont's, and decide where your comfort level is. Some swear off lunchmeat due the listeria risk, others don't for example.
Congrats and welcome! I read the Baby Bargains book, and based most of my registry off of it. Other than that, the only other reading I've done (besides here, of course!) is on the numerous pregnancy apps I've downloaded. I actually find them very informative.
