I don't put much stock in old wive's tales. My sister swears that her son's heartbeat was slower than her daughter's but I think that was a realization after the fact.
Congratulations. I agree with everyone else the HR thing is not true. My son had a HR in the "girl" range but very clearly showed us at the a/s that he is a boy!
That's great news, congratulations! My girl did have a higher heartbeat, I think around 174, at my first couple of appointments. It's routinely down in the 140's now.
Yay for good results! My little guy had a HR in the low-to-mid 160s for a long time. I think they all start out relatively high and then slow down as they get bigger.
The heartbeat was 167 which a lot of people are telling me that points to a girl... did anyone proves this true or wrong?
My son's heartbeat was always the rate of a girl. He is 3 yrs old now and I can assure you he is a boy. This pregnancy the heart beat was a boy but she is a girl according to dna and several sonos. So I call it hog wash.
Yay that is great news! I think the HR thing was determined not to be a good predictor, but the thread that talked about which side the placenta is on made it sound like that was a bit more promising in determining boy/girl
