I have an interview with an NGO in Mumbai on Wednesday. I am ridiculously excited and I really want this position. Its an unpaid volunteer position that requires me to cash out some 401k money (shhhh...don't tell the MM girls) but I really really really want to do this. I need all the good luck vibes I can get.
There is a long backstory but it boils down to this...Mumbai is the reason why I "started over" and the city has a special place in my heart and I feel like I need to give back to the city that gave me the strength to get rid of XH and start my life over.
UPDATE
Survived my first interview and they want to set up a second interview next week. They have a few projects coming up that match my skill set and the volunteer coordinator loved the fact that I have been to Mumbai and already know the area. Half of the first interview is normally an overview of the city and a brief overview of the culture shock that you can expect; instead we chatted about monsoon season and how the constant traffic noise turns into white noise and how I missed the sound of it. I think I shocked her with my familiarity of the part of the city the office is in.

Good luck! Also, if you get it, consider fundraising for it. My friend is going over to Uganda for a month of volunteer work and she was able to fundraise all the money she needed. People were happy to donate to her!

If I get the position I will definitely be fundraising. I'm looking at needing $8000 for 3 months ($2k for airfare and $1k a month for rent/food/essentials and then $1k for some wiggle room) and I will probably tack on a trip to Germany on the way home....I have to fly over it so I might as well stop and visit friends
