Getting from Vienna to Munich

Not sure if this helps, but I remember paying around the same for amount for airfare from Munich to Vienna. Is flying an option?

Is that for 1 person or 2 people? I looked on the bahn.de site and found a morning train that's around 59EUR per person. Not 30, but not 100 either. (It shows 118EUR, but that's not per person - it's for how many people you say are going). Unless you're looking at round trip.

But, yes, they start selling them 60 days or so in advance and a lot of the discount rates are based on early booking and availability and can sell out pretty quickly.

I've never taken the OBB trains/railjet or whatever since I'm in Germany, but they might have options that Deutsche Bahn doesn't have. I can't imagine it to be bad, so I'd probably do it.
