Scary commute today.
I'm 12 weeks, 5 days today.
Riding the train today, as is often the case, I had to stand. It's only 15 minutes and normally NBD. But today, toward the end I started to feel pretty awful, a little nauseous, heart racing, and then started to black out as we approached my stop. I was barely able to walk off and deposit myself on a bench. I was barely able to even see the bench. I felt much better right away once I was sitting down. I got some water and then transferred to a bus for the rest of the way (normally bike the rest of the way).
It was kind of like when I sometimes get lightheaded when I stand up too fast. Except it came on slowly and I'd been standing for a while.
I'd only had a very small breakfast compared to normal (they have breakfast at work on first Mondays), and nothing to drink yet, so I might have been kind of dehydrated.
During my first pregnancy I had this happen several times. My doctor said I need to drink more water and eat more protein. It helped. I never had another problem. It was scary. Mine happened in church, I taught in a Catholic school. One time I couldn't see, just like you described. Hope you have a better day from here.
I have had a couple of similar incidents, and it has seemed to be related to low blood sugar, and in one case, possibly low blood pressure, because I had eaten plenty. It has not continued, and I have made sure I always have a snack on hand just in case. The lack of water could have contributed as well. Hope you are feeling better soon!
Maybe you can start stashing a bottle of water and some pretzels or crackers in your bag. I've heard just rocking back and forth will help pump some blood up from your legs too.
No reason for real alarm, but ditto the others about keeping on top of your water intake and keeping a salty snack handy in case it happens again. I had a few of these episodes in weeks 12-16.
This happened to me on the train in the first tri. After that I would find anywhere to sit even or make sure to have water and snacks in my bag at all times. I also ate cereal right when I woke up then had my "second breakfast" when I would get to work.

Thanks for the reassurance. I have always had low blood pressure. And come to think of it, I have been seriously craving salty snacks for a day or so now. (But I've been trying to be good. I'm starting my second trimester, and haven't felt sick in weeks, I'm supposed to be getting back on the healthy bandwagon!)
I feel fine now that I've eaten and drunk more, but then again, I have a desk job.
I had a similar episode around 17 weeks. I'm a physician assistant and was scrubbed in in the OR, and suddenly got super hot, dizzy, and lost vision. I think it mostly had to do with the fact that I was standing in one spot for a long time, and I was hot and probably dehydrated. I got a pair of TED hoses from a medical supply store and that seemed to help, as well as drinking lots of water.
How scary! I am glad you are ok. I had something similar happen around week 19. Mine was due to a medication the doctor put me on for migraines. I am no longer taking those pills. It happened to me both times I was on the train to or from work. It was scary!

I've had a few episodes like this, in my case I'm thinking that it's blood pressure related. Usually laying down & having a glass of water helps. It started happening the other day in the grocery store - I had to leave the $$ with DH and go sit on the bench.

Happened to me a few times too. For me it would be during long cab rides, like I suddenly had motion sickness where I never had before. Eating just before and drinking lots of water helped.
I had problems with this most of my first and part of my second trimesters. Progesterone can cause low blood pressure which can cause everything you listed. I passed out once and came very close to it many other times. Ditto the others, drink lots of water and increase the salt intake.
