$200 for, what, 4 months? I just can't wrap my brain around this.
Before I got the NFL Season Ticket*, I spent every single Sunday in a bar watching football. All the games. To the tune of $100+/Sunday. If you are an avid football fan, $200 for the whole season in the comfort of your own home vs. $1700/season in a bar is kind of a no-brainer.
*I haven't watched any football at all in at least five years, except occasionally the Superbowl. We told DirecTV to suck it years ago and watch everything online now. I'm so over doing business with companies that require long-term contracts, especially when they universally provide such shitty service.

OK, I can drink. A lot. I still can't spend $100 on a single day in a bar.
Since I'm not a sports watcher, I just don't get this. I would be livid if this is what H spent his money on. And I'm actually ok with him spending $20 in beer on the weekends while they watch early lacrosse games, so it's not like I'm completely against frivolous spending.
Wait - what's happened?? I've been without tv since last Tuesday when we moved, although they're coming tomorrow to hook it up again. There are channels missing? Please explain.
they couldn't make a deal with viacom so all those channels are off.
or, as i like to say, i lost comedy central and a couple of other shitty channels i never watch.
Comedy Central is gone?!?!? No! I cannot live without John Stewart and Colbert Report! DH won't live without the Sunday Ticket. Do I need two cable providers now? Are they working on a deal? Who can I complain to? WHAT AM I GOING TO DO??

i just got off the phone with them. since we never had the sunday ticket i didn't bother with that route. we got showtime and starz (starz is the better part, IMO) for 6 months, $30 for 3 months, $15 for 3 months and $10 for 6 more months.
