I'm so happy it's Friday! I'm taking a half day off work because my boss has been out of town all week and I barely have any work to do, so I'm taking a "me" afternoon and meeting my H for lunch at this delicious pizza place, then going to get a pedicure because doing it myself these days is a funny event, then I'm going home to maybe read or take a nap. I also treated myself to McDonalds for breakfast - a small iced mocha and a sausage egg mcmuffin. I never really eat this way outside of pregnancy, so I'm letting myself enjoy these last few weeks of pregnancy with some of the things I normally never eat. Yay for Fridays, especially in the spring!
Now I really want some McDonald's breakfast. This yogurt isn't cutting it today.
A couple of coworkers have wished me a Happy Mother's Day already. The first couple of times I just looked at them blankly. It hasn't sunk in yet. I'm hoping to spend the majority of Sunday in the hammock with a copious amount of fruity drinks and a pile of guilty pleasure magazines.

Happy Friday! I work across the street from a convention center. Today there is a state police graduation and it is f*ing up traffic. I just learned Obama is going to be here on the 11th (which is a huge deal) and I am guessing that means street closing and a nightmare commute. Thanks Obama (heh)!
I'm taking a half day today. We're going OOT with friends to a NASCAR race. Not really thrilled about going but H is excited and it will be nice to just get away for a weekend. We got free tickets so didn't want to pass up.
I'm stoked for Mother's Day. Telling H's family and I'll be telling my Grandma who is 97! I've been dreaming about this moment and so excited it's finally here.
My doctor phoned me this morning to say that my blood test results were back and I needed to come and pick up a prescription for iron tablets. Turns out I am not lazy and really unfit, I am anaemic. I find this reassuring somehow and it actually makes me happy. I was getting out of breathe walking up the stairs and everything is an effort. I could not remember that from my first pregnancy, well not when I was half way through, only at the end.
We have our last wedding this weekend and then our calendars are clear until my due date.
I'm going to BRU at lunch today to return some duplicate items for things we still need and am way too excited about it. BRU and BBB are my two fave stores right now! And I'm a huge dork because I have a stack of coupons to use with a list of which coupons go with which items I want to maximize my savings.
I'm getting a mani/pedi tonight which I'm sooo excited about. I love getting my nails done. Also, my baby shower is on Sunday. I'm so excited for it! It seemed light years away when my friend first started planning it, and it seemed so weird that *I* would be having my own baby shower, but it's actually here!
I'm finishing up cleaning my house and doing the rest of the laundry today so I'll have a free weekend to relax!
We just planned our family weekend trip away. We're headed to Atlanta for 4 days to see the zoo/aquarium with DS. And staying at the Omni. In super pumped for our mini trip.
I got sunburned yesterday at the pool! I seriously never get sunburned and was wearing DS's SPF 50! The last time I got sunburned I was pregnant with DS. I wonder if it's a coincidence or if my skin gets weirdly sensitive during pregnancy.

I feel the same when Obama comes to San Francisco. It's a nightmare in the city.
I'm taking the day off (along with the next two Fridays) to use up vacation days. My plan is to finish digesting breakfast, work out, go to Costco, and make homemade bread. I'm sure a nap will happen at some point and I have the last episode in season 2 of Call the Midwife to watch. Hopefully I will not be called on to referee any cat fights.
The third dresser top came today and while one of the pieces is disconnected, like the screws came loose and it fell off, as a whole it is undamaged and will have to do. We have two other tops to steal screws from.

You're definitely more likely to get sunburned when pg, so be careful! My ob warned me about this before we left for fl and I didn't take him as seriously as I should have. I got a little burnt, not bad and it turned quick, but I was surprised at how fast it happened!
shekels1222 - I've noticed that my skin is more sun-sensitive too. The SPF70 I used for 90 minutes at the beach last weekend didn't work too well, even with reapplying.
I read the half-baked posts and thought we were talking about ice cream.
My coworker walked into work with an extra breakfast souffle from Panera and gave it to me. Yesssssss. Now I'd like to put out to the universe that I could really use an extra million dollars.
No one is at work today so I've spent the morning crunching numbers on insurance and how much I should send to my child care FSA. Those numbers make me want to cry.
Tonight we are having a date night and all I want is a martini....lol its so hard being PG in the summer time!! Drinks look so much better in the summer months.
Only 2 more days until Mothers Day! J and I can't wait to finally share our good news. We are having my family over for brunch late morning, and then we are heading to his mom's house for dinner. We really lucked out with the timing; it's the perfect day, and we'll see all of our siblings too.
Very jealous of you ladies with days off today. kermit, have your hankies ready for the last episode of CTMW. I am a puddle while watching that show.
I ordered my baby book today! It's super cute from Ruby Love Designs on Etsy. Now, I must actually commit to filling it in as baby grows up.
Also, my doctor did a cervix check last night to make sure the spotting (I had two small episodes) wasn't related to early labor and I'm closed up like Fort Knox. I'm glad baby is nice and snug in there but I hope I'm not insanely late, either.
I'm stopping at the deli in my building for a breakfast burrito. I'm hungry!!! All this talk of McDonalds is killing me lol
I know! What's really surprising is one of the ladies that did that is the biggest gossip I know. I thought for sure she's start prying for information - and then proceed to tell everyone (which is exactly what I had hoped for).
So happy this week is finally over. I'm on my break now, then two more classes to teach before freedom.
Went to Dr yesterday to check out my cough and was diagnosed with pneumonia. I kinda freaked out for sake of baby, but he seemed pretty relaxed about it. I was actually shocked, because I feel fine. I've been tired, but had attributed it to 1st tri. (Sorry for repeat for MLers)
Happy Friday, indeed!! Mama needs some sleep! My H and I trade off weekend days so we each get a day to sleep in, and mine is tomorrow! Woot!
We do this too and mine is usually Saturday but I'm assuming my day will be on Sunday. I'm trying to convince him to give me both. Think it'll work? I'm totally pulling the pregnant lady card on this one.

I'm sitting in the chair at the nail salon getting my first pedicure in like 10 months. Feels so good. I think a movie and nap are in order after this.
H asked me what I want to do for Mother's Day. I was surprised since I didn't expect him to do anything. He said he'll make me whatever I want for dinner so I have to think if something yummy.

So at lunch, I was sitting with oblivious CW, and one of my other CWs asked if I was excited for my first Mother's day. I said "yeah, should be fun", and oblivious CW, after about 15 seconds, goes "I'm missing something". Then I told her. It was so fun to see her so confused.
We are having dinner tonight with friends at a delicious restaurant.
Tomorrow we have a breastfeeding class in the morning, then have to run some errands and prep the house for Sunday, then going to a housewarming BBQ with a bunch of DH's friends.
Sunday after church we are having my parents, brother, & grandparents over for Mother's Day!
