I'm specifically looking for questions to ask that would help me understand what life would be like working for this company. To get at culture, work life balance, what makes people successful at the company/in the role, etc.
Any suggestions for good questions to ask interviewers along that line?

Ditto koosh - I just want to encourage you to ask questions. I've been interviewing candidates for the past couple weeks and am shocked at how few questions interviewees have asked.
I would really want to know about how others collaborate. As a teacher I want to be able to collaborate professionally and help with planning, troubleshooting, etc .
I don't know if this would apply to your field, but in mine, I would ask what kind of turn over they have.
I know in my last job, it would have raised a red flag had I known how often people change positions or leave. It was one of the first questions I asked in the interview for my new job.
