Oh UnderProtest, I'm sorry. It all sounds shitty, but the part for me where I was all WTF?! was that his idea of a relaxing MD is dragging two napless toddlers through a museum. Clueless, dude.
I saw FB posts of moms at the zoo with their kids and thought it seemed nice, then I had a moment of reality and was like, man that would suck to be chasing my kids through the zoo today.
Not sure which year was worse. His ideas of what the kids are capable of and what is age appropriate are absolutely ridiculous.

Our zoo has a free for moms on Mother's Day promotion. It is literally the very last place I would choose to be.
You don't sound like a bitch UnderProtest! I would be annoyed too. I'm sorry you didn't get the day you wanted. I didn't either (see my two previous vents).
What is with our husbands? Are they incapable of any sort of multitasking or a rational thought?
I don't know. They just don't think stuff through, I don't know why. DH seems to be out of his funk today, thankfully. So I'm trying to (un)successfully move on. :?

My H and SIL are super excited to take Bas to the zoo or the aquarium when H is on pat leave. I keep thinking about how Bas is going to be 100% uninterested, will probably be cranky and hot and cranky, and thank god I'll be back at work by them.
What is it with other relatives being obsessed with the aquarium and the zoo? My mom started hounding me when DS was about 18 months old that she wants to take DS to the aquarium and zoo. Which are both a 2+ hour drive from our house. And DS doesn't nap in the car. Mom, I love you but WTF makes you think that's a good idea?!?
In his further defense, he was not the one who bought me a dozen mason jars. (Mom, really what, though, what the actual fuck.)
I would love a dozen Mason jars. I love to can! ::ducks::
Um, I do too, but I literally have entire flats of empty jars sitting on my back porch because I haven't had the time to can since baby came along. Maybe she didn't know, given that she's only over at my house every week...?
