I am so annoyed.
DD had a diaper rash that was not getting any better with coconut oil, so we temporarily put her in disposables and used desitin until it cleared up. Her cloth diapers had been leaking for a couple days, so I figured they needed a good cleaning. While she was in disposables I washed (x2) and stripped all the diapers. I put the inserts in the dryer and dried the covers in the sun.
They're still leaking. I've tried changing the sizing. No help. Am I just going to have to start either double stuffing the diaper at all times? We already double stuff at night. Or change her every hour? Am I missing something?
Are you using microfiber inserts by chance? We had a ton of compression leaks with them and had to switch to natural fiber inserts to combat the leaking.

They are all microfiber. Well, crap.
I don't mind double stuffing with the microfiber if I have to, but I can't believe she pees that much. It's not like we go six hours without changing her.
I'll have to get some natural fiber inserts and see if that helps. Thanks!
We started using the prefolds we had from when she was a newborn and they worked well as long as she is changed every 2 hours. For nap time we wrap a microfiber inside a grovia bamboo cotton prefold and that works well. For overnight we've been using either the grovia with a hemp insert wrapped inside or a hemp babies bigger weeds.

Are the inserts soaked when you go to change after noticing a leak? She could be peeing that much.

Sometimes they are soaked, but sometimes they aren't. We use bum genius 4.0.mostly, but I also have a couple thirsties brand and one that I really only bought because it had hedgehogs on it. lol
We always had to use booster/extra inserts after about 6 months. One microfiber insert is laughable in the face of older infant/toddler pee. You'll need to add even more when they start to hold it longer and pee more at a time. I usually have either three microfiber inserts (combine BGs with Alvas, which are much more absorbent) or two microfiber/one hemp or bamboo insert (Thirsties duo inserts + Alva MF insert). I've never stripped the diapers - if they leak, it's because they are soaked through. Is she leaking out the legs or is the PUL leaking all over? Sometimes the covers need to be dried in the machine to reseal the PUL.
I thought you absolutely couldn't dry them in the washer or it would void the warranty? That's why I've been hanging them to dry.
DH is getting frustrated and is all "I don't know if I want to cloth diaper the next one" and I just say "well, we'll argue about that later and we already have all these diapers". Lol
