last night at 10pm, I had the realization as I folded the load coming out of the dryer that every article of clothing in my house was clean at that moment. I'm not sure it has happened since I had DS1 4+ years ago. It's truly sad how happy that made me. It'll probably be 4+ years before it happens again
LOL. The only time that happened in my house was the weekend before I had DS. I was on a cleaning rampage, it was blizzarding, I was worried about my induction on Monday, so I was up all of Sunday night doing laundry. At 3am everything had been washed, folded and put away. Then DD got up at 6, took her pjs off and well there went that.
It's such a great feeling.
I'm a load or two a day kind of girl though. I never run behind that way, but I'm never really caught up either as a result.
Oh man, I hate laundry. It's worsse than the dishes. You can eat on paper plates but you can't wear paper clothes.
On the subject - I wash J's clothes separately and maybe throw in a nursing tank or two. When do you/did you stop washing separately? I'm guessing it would be okay to put things like shirts in with it - maybe not jeans & heavy clothes.
We're good about keeping on top of the washing/folding, but are sucking ass lately at putting stuff away. We have 3 or 4 baskets of clean clothes that need put away and a huge load of towels that need folded that I decided would make a great pile on the couch instead. H and I keep looking at it like it's not there. LOL
oh, it wasn't all put away (I had stacks of DSs clothes outside their bedrooms). Just clean

I wash our clothes every night after everyone is in their PJ's. I do one big load and fold it before I go to bed. I put it away in the morning while the kids are eating breakfast. This routine has saved us from having clothes piles everywhere.

As long as it's not my dirtiest of the dirty barn clothes or the floor scrub rags, I'll throw DS's clothes in with whatever if I have to. Why not? He doesn't have high class clothes, so whatever happens to his $3.99 Carter's happens.
Usually though, I do each of the kid's separately and wait until their hampers are full. I do most of my laundry that way actually. It's easier for me knowing one load goes back to all of the same place. No sorting required.
DH is very good at doing the wash/dry cycle. He'll do it couple of times a week. But we're both horrible at folding/putting stuff away. Currently I have a pile of unfold clothes in laundry room, a pile of unfold in DD's closet and a basket of folded clothes that need to be put away

We wash everything together. We didn't feel like All Free & Clear was leaving out clothes clean. Does anyone have another recommendation? I just use Purex Free (which I think isn't as good for babies?). Meh.

I'm so much better at getting DD's clothes done than my own. Of course, she has enough clothes right now from hand-me-downs that she can usually go 2 weeks before need laundry done, which we have dirtied all the burp cloths and enough of her blankets that there's a full load right there.
I told DH that we NEED to do laundry today (we do ours together with anything of DD's that is darker). I'm down to one "clean" nursing bra, and I've already worn it 3 days in a row, lol

I always feel like my loads of laundry are like one shirt and one pair of underwear for both dh and me, and then a million kids clothes, diapers and towels.

I have been known to make DH take an item of clothing off so I can put it in the washing machine in my constant attempt to have ALL the laundry clean! Good job!
