My dad is having pretty major surgery this morning (hopefully benign tumor on his kidney being removed). I'm waiting on a call to hear everything went well.....I'll f/u later.
My twin bro finally told my folks that he and his girlfriend are expecting in October. They've been together for a long time, but I think they're scurrying to get ready for a huge life change. Mom was happy but a little shocked. Yay for another cousin for J (and in Hawaii - we'll have to visit more often .
+2 questions: 1) FIL pulled BM from our freezer and heated it up for J last night around 5pm. J only ate a little and I told FIL he had to dump the rest. Was that too cautious or should I have asked our DCP to give J the milk this morning around 11am? I seem to recall that once heated (even a little) and unused, freezer milk gets dumped. Could I have fed it to J that night? (I'm guessing yes, but I wanted to BF).
2) When did you switch to size 3 diapers? I mentioned it to my in laws yesterday and they thought I was crazy. J is ~15 pounds, 3.5 months old.
1) With my first child, I would have dumped it. With my second, I was much more relaxed. I may have given it to him. What does that say about me? Ha. 2) I switched sizes on diapers when the reached the max weight or they began to look small.
DD was in size 3 around that time - I think I ordered another box of 2s at 3.5 months thinking that surely they'd fit, and was buying a box of 3s about a week or two later.

My H sent me flowers at work yesterday from DS for Mother's Day because we were out of town during the holiday. I told him that all I wanted was a card (would have been much more MM!) but the flowers were beautiful and unexpected. Of course I felt like such a turd when I got home and asked where my card was.
My kid moved into size 3 really fast, I would say around 3 months old? He was in them for about 5 months and we just moved into size 4. It depends on body shape more than weight.
I think we moved into size 3 around 4 months. We started having more and more blowouts and leaks, which is our cue to size up. She's still in size 3 now.
So totally weird and random. I have a friend who's fallen down the "baby all the time" rabbit hole since she had her daughter 6 months ago. I keep trying to hang our with her, at times that are very convenient for *her* b/c I know she has an infant, but she doesn't return my calls. She only contacts me when she needs something (baby advice, to borrow a baby item, etc).
We haven't spoken in a month. Today she texts me asking if I have any breast milk in the freezer, b/c she has to take antibiotics for an EI and doesn't want the meds to get passed on to her DD.
::insert shocked face:: WTF. Even if I had any BM (which I don't), I certainly wouldn't give it to you! I advised her to contact her local BM bank, her large city surely has one.

bahahahaha. I just went to the door to sign for a fedex parcel. DD was sleeping in my arms. When I got back to the living room I looked down and realized my tank top was pulled down all the way so just my nursing bra was showing. hahahaha How embarrassing.
I'm getting my hair cut today. Woohoo! I can't wait to chop it! I also booked my facial, mani and pedi H got me for Mother's Day!
I got an offer to go work for my friends company, it would be a normal full time job, benefits and decent pay, nothing crazy. It would more than cover childcare and my car payment. At the moment I've got a job as independent sales rep where I make my schedule but purely commission... It would allow me to stay home with J. H is supportive either way. I'm pretty sure I'll stay with what I'm already doing,
Good luck to your dad, simpsongal. My twin is expecting too, and I am so, so thrilled for them. Yay for twin cousins for our kids!
I am still super touched by one of the things that my husband did for my birthday the other day. I used to run in high school, and I had to forfeit my old sweats with my number on them in order to graduate. This year, I finally turned as old as my number on the sweats, so my husband gave me a pair he had custom ordered with the mascot and my old number on them (he had contacted the athletic director to find out where they got uniforms from, etc.). They are awesome, and one of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever received. Of course my husband says "it's no big deal." Whatever, dude, it is to me! Love.
I had dinner with a friend who is expecting her first baby in a few weeks. We were talking about baby stuff and she informed me that (after watching a video at a BFing class) "pumping milk looks so gross and weird - I don't ever want my husband to see me doing that!"
LOL. After labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery, you basically give no fucks about what your husband sees.
Hope everything goes smoothly for your dad, simpsongal!
I am in a great mood today! We got back last night from our first trip with baby and everyone survived. She did so well on the plane! And then she slept 9pm-5am last night. Which means I slept uninterrupted for almost 7 hours. It was amazing.

I think we switched to size 3s around 4 months.
H and I are using MFP to really track our eating because it's gotten out of control and I'm gaining weight now that I've weaned. Eating healthy is hard, yo! I had 500 calories worth of pasta salad yesterday
At DS's 16 month well check our pedi walked in and was pregnant. Both DH and I *almost* said something, then were paralyzed with the fear that you're never supposed to comment if you don't know for sure the woman is pregnant. I confirmed with a friend who's a PA in the practice and I'm sooooo excited for her!!! I'm also wondering if this will affect her advice as a pedi. We were discussing medicating for teething and she said she could look up some homeopathic remedies for us - lololololololol!

I went to the grocery store with M still in his pajamas and let him have a cookie. I had promised cookies during our ill fated grocery shopping experience yesterday, and he never got one, because we had to leave due to his sister's epic tantrum.
TMI - but I'm getting my first Brazilian wax in about two hours. I'M SCARED!!! I have no idea what compelled me to make the appointment, but there's no turning back now.
The room I pump in is next to the conference room and has no lock. I put a do not disturb sign on the door but I can hear my boss' voice. ughhh That is going to kill my supply!
Vibes for your dad! TMI - but I'm getting my first Brazilian wax in about two hours. I'M SCARED!!! I have no idea what compelled me to make the appointment, but there's no turning back now.
Be brave! It's not so bad. The first one is the worst. They become faster and easier after that. And you feel so clean when it's all done!

I finished my work early today, so now I'm enjoying the sunshine on the deck while taking an extended lunch break. Mmm, sunshine.
Dh went to the city last night for a work thing that was supposed to be this morning . Then found out at 8am that said work thing was cancelled and no one from the organization or his school told him. So it's going to get really annoying to get reimbursement for the hotel room...
My annual review is today at 2pm. I have anxiety about it. Blerg.
Good luck! I hate reviews.
Ugh. I can't decide if I feel like vomiting because I have anxiety about the review or what. Maybe I'm pregnant? Potato chips haven't sounded good at 9:15am since I was pregnant. Or maybe I just want to eat my feelings.
I had to ask 3 times during my quarterly review for any positive feedback (yes, three quarterly reviews AND and annual review). I've asked around, and everyone on our staff had a similar experience, so it's not just me. My new boss is difficult to work for.
Um my job didn't take me off payroll when my std kicked in, and they paid me a full paycheck, now I have to go down and write them a check back for that paycheck. And they're telling me I didn't pay my may benefits, which I did because they've cashed it ... Ugh
My work offers summer flextime and I am doing it! I will work an extra 45-60 min for 7 days and then have every other Thursday off, in addition to every Friday that I already have off. I can either take ds to moms group meet ups or send him to daycare, it is going to be great.
A friend just told me she's 9 weeks pg. I'm thrilled for them but then I got all teary thinking I would be like 20 weeks pg now, had the pg earlier this year stuck. Dh and I agree we want to wait another year to try so what is my deal? Ugh. So random how it creeps up unexpectedly when I really feel ok about where we are.
Brushing my teeth makes me vomit about 50% of the time so I am trying to psych myself up to go do it. I didn't ask for any nausea medicine at my last appointment but I might at this week's.
