1. Are baby allergies possible? DS sounds like he has snot is his nose (more than his usual amounts) I've done saline and the nose frida. He doesn't have a temperature and seems happy. DH bad spring allergies too.
2. I've been sleeping on my side lately (usually a back sleeper) and in the MOTN I've woken up leaking through the nursing pad and tank. DS unfortunately hasn't been going any longer than usual. Why would this develop at three months? He's been cluster feeding more the past few days.
3. How old was your baby when you stopped swaddling? One of those stupid baby development emails suggested four months and I don't think he'll be ready.

As far as #3, I stopped swaddling when she started rolling over in the SWADDLE. I remember freaking out about it bc she wasn't sleeping as well without it. Screw the emails. Use it if it works. The Magic Sleep Suit worked for us in the transition.

sh10- Not sure about baby allergies, but babies in general tend to sound congested. It's getting better as G gets older but isn't gone yet. Peak milk supply is supposed to be 4-6 months. So it can be increasing still. I have to sleep on my back to keep crazy things from happening :-( and I never leak any other time. You're supposed to stop swaddling when they roll over (so they can move themselves if they get into an uncomfortable position)
Thank you both! spaghetticat, I should just unsubscribe from the emails, they make me crazy! winemaker06, it's worse than how his usual baby pug (I thought someone said that here) sounds. But he's happy and doesn't have any symptoms for anything else, so it's probably just a change as he's growing. Seeing 3 am night after night messes with me, thanks for you patience.
sh10, I leaked like crazy every night for a couple months, disposable pads didn't cut it. I actually started sticking cloth diaper inserts into my tank tops to keep from soaking the bed. It didn't last beyond 4 months fortunately (or unfortunately if you consider the reason I stopped leaking was because DS stopped sttn...). So anyway, if you CD, you could try that solution.

1) My baby (almost 4 wks) consistently has light yellow goop in his eyes. Initially he had blocked tear ducts but I don't think he does anymore. Normal?
2) Why does he love to pop off the boob and rub his head back and forth over my nipple? It makes such a mess.
I don't get CIO, Ferber. Whenever they are mentioned here, it seems they are used for putting the baby down at the beginning of the night.
Do you also use them morn? Is there anything I can do to stop DD being so hungry morn? Or do I just have to wait until she decides to sleep through?
I know she is not quite 3 months but I'm always hearing, about babies being sleep trained at 3 months and i dont see how that would work.
I think CIO and Ferber are only for the beginning of the night and night weaning is suggested to start at later than six months. At least that's what I've picked up from the moms of older babies. Hopefully they will chime in.

My DS never had trouble going to sleep but he woke up way too often expecting to eat. We used CIO to eliminate middle of the night feedings. We started when he was four months (with our pedi's blessing) to get him from four down to two MOTN feedings. At six months we did it again to go to one feeding, and at eight months we did it one more time to get him to stop eating overnight.

1) when did your pp hair loss stop? At the rate I'm going, I'm worried I won't have any hair left by the time it's over!
2) lately, DD has been trying to twist her whole body - she'll try to turn her head up and over her right shoulder as far as it can possibly go, and stick her left leg straight out at the same time. Normal?

Personally, I think 3 months is too early to sleep train. 4 months is the general consensus on when it would be okay to start sleep training.
Ferber is a type of CIO sleep train system; there are others (Weissbluth is another common system). Yes, it is often used for the beginning of the night but can be used for MOTN too. We did Ferber at the beginning of the night because up until that point, she had never fallen asleep on her own at bedtime without having to be nursed/rocked to sleep. It got especially unbearable after 4.5 months when it would take so long to put her down. And then that increased her MOTN wakings because she couldn't make it through any of her sleep cycles by the time 5.5 months hit (she'd wake up from a sleep cycle and expect me to still be there nursing her or me or DH rocking her, so cue freakout, nurse/rock, lather, rinse and repeat every hour for the rest of the night). Ferber helped with this. 2 months after Ferber, she consistently wakes up 0-1 times in the MOTN (sometimes 2 when she's about to cut a tooth).
For your 3-month-old, perhaps more nursing sessions or perhaps a bit more BM/formula in her bottles during the day might help. If not, I'd try sending your DH to soothe her back to sleep in if you haven't already. If that doesn't work, I'd personally want to WIO (wait it out) and see if things eventually get better or at least make her old enough for sleep training. Good luck!

It stopped somewhere between 5-6 months. It was horrible though, OMG.
I don't know if DD did that specific type of twisting but she definitely was a fan of the acrobatics lol.
Did anyone have a baby that could fall asleep on her/his own as a newborn but then suddenly stop later? DD can be put in her bassinet awake and fall asleep all on her own most of the timeā¦I am hoping this isn't destined to change, lol

Sleep training usually is for going to sleep initially. I don't anyone here or IRL that even attempted it in some manner until at least 5m, if not closer to 6m.
MOTN sleep training doesn't happen until much later, like closer to 8-9m or later.
If I haven't started losing hair yet am I in the clear??
No, mine started at 3 months. BUT, I know some women who looked at me like I had three heads when I started venting about the hair loss so it doesn't happen to everyone.

DH seriously insists the baby is getting a cold every other day, especially anytime the sounds change. And he's been wrong so far! Not looking forward to the day he's right. Hopefully your little guy is just being a kid too.
