I've seen people say here that they had to just let their LO "figure it out" when it comes to sitting up and trying to crawl in the MOTN. My DS got up like a gajillion times last night and would just be sitting up screaming. If I laid him back down, he would cry and sit right back up. I tried letting him fuss it out but that wasnt working.
So, what does let them "figure it out" mean? Eventually he will stop crying and lay back down? I'm nervous that he will start falling asleep and knock his head on the crib or something. Plus it ended up being over 2 hours of cycling through crying, me laying him down, him sitting up and crying, me rocking him to sleep, just to have him sit up instantly and start crying again.
Or tell me that this is a short lived phase and in a week he will stop forgetting how to lay back down.
My dd did this exact thing for about 7-10 days. I wanted to keep going in to help her lay down, but that actually pissed her off even more. After we just let her be, she would eventually calm down after maybe 15 minutes or so. It's rough, and I'd be glued to the video monitor the entire time.
Now at 10 months, she likes to stand up in the crib and forgets how to sit down. Screams. Rinse, repeat. Babies, man.
