Does anyone have experience with SwimAmerica swimming lessons? They are being offered at the pool closest to our house. It would be very convenient, but I'm worried that it might be mostly for people who have aspirations of swim team for their kids. I don't care if that's what he ends up wanting to do, but I don't want to push him into swimming competitively, either. He's 3.
My 3 1/2 year old is just finishing level one (7 weeks, once a week) and I signed her up for level 2 today. I think it's been great, low teacher/student ratio, specific skills. She loves it.
Classes are 4 days a week for 2 weeks. They seem pricey, but it's at an indoor pool...and that makes it priceless for me!
I think the low ratio will make a ton of difference. DD1 is just kind of stuck at one level in the rec center group lessons, so we stopped them. Five kids in a 30-min beginner class doesn't equal many minutes per kid.
I think there are 6 kids in a class & they're only 30 min. There must be other adults though, because parents aren't allowed on the pool platform.
