We had fluoride supplements for DS and the liquid was grape flavored. He really liked it. I wonder if a different pharmacy would have a different formulation?

If it's a multiple vitamin with fluoride, they all smell/taste bad to me. We tried several manufacturers and she would not take any of the mvi/fluoride drops. We ended up with just fluoride drops alone, they're peach flavored, and much more palatable.
Our dentist here told us to supplement right away, but the ped said it wasn't necessary. I did just buy toothpaste with flouride to start "brushing" DS's two little teeth, but we certainly don't do it regularly yet and I'm not sure if that's enough.
Does the supplement have to come through a prescription?

It sounds like you have a multivitamin with fluoride. It's the vitamin/mineral part that's nasty. My DS wouldn't take Poly-vi-sol. Ask your doctor or dentist for a prescription for just sodium fluoride drops. They are flavored (grape or peach, apparently, depending on manufacturer) and my DS thought they were tasty.
