DS1 is supposed to arrive next month. We've received both the Kick and Play Piano Gym and the Rainforest Melodies gym as gifts. I know both are popular and seem to be well-liked, but do we really need both of them?
I'm not sure if babies can get bored with them or how long we'll actually use them. I don't mind storing both if it's useful but am wondering if it would be better to return one and get something else we need. Thoughts?
We have exactly those two. Dd likes them both, but at two months she still just sort of stares at the rainforest one whereas she interacts with the piano one. I think the rainforest one will get more use as she gets a little bigger.
Unless you have a big house and want one for upstairs and one for downstairs, I'd return one. FWIW, we just got the kick and play piano gym, and he seems to like it. Heard good things about the rainforest gym too.
We had two (bought one, and then got one as a gift) and it was nice because we have a big house. I kept one on the main level, and one in the basement near the treadmill so he could play while I ran or walked.
I did end up selling one once he outgrew them, but I plan to replace it with the Kick n' Play Piano for #2.
We have two...it's nice to have one on each level of the house. Right now the kick n play is in the living room and the regular gym is upstairs on a blanket in the bathroom...it's the only way I get a shower, lol.

We have two. I keep one in the living room and one in the basement for when we are down there. We could have done fine with just one, but I didn't find out about the awesomeness of the kick and play piano mat until after we already had the other one

We have those 2. I did use them both but not necessary. I would keep one in the living room and one in her room so it was nice for that. Sometimes when they are little you like to have lots of different things to entertain them since it can be difficult. The kick and play was our favorite.

We have 2 (got the kick and play for christmas when she was 2 months old). We kept one upstairs and one downstairs. With kid 2, we have them both in the playroom and use both daily. I found the circular one (we have the luv u zoo) better when DD2 was super tiny and now she loves to sit and play with the piano of the kick and play). You can hang more stuff and then can scoot around with the circular ones.

You only need one. However, we ended up with two because his first was a large, round one. He ended up in the hospital a lot as an infant, so we got a rectangular one that could fit in the hospital crib to help entertain him. Barring special circumstances, I'd return one.

I'm not familiar with these two, but my kids had very little use for one play gym, let alone two, regardless of type. If it were me, I'd return one. My girls were just as happy on a blanket on the floor, playing with their own fingers and toes. :-) Before they became aware of those, they didn't even notice stuff hanging above their heads.

I will go against the grain and say keep both. We have a very small house but we have two and use two daily. We have the kick n play but its small and not good for learning to roll or actually rolling. He loves the mirror but is very men about the piano. We also have a hand me down playskool one that I love for the size Bc he can roll over on it. I thought I would never use it but I set it up once when he seemed bored with the kick m play. And he has been using both everyday for at least two months. I don't like having lots of crape but I like knowing I always have something to keep him entertained if I need to shower or fold laundry or whatever. Keep both and only open the second if you need it.
I have one of the other versions of the Rainforest mat. Mine is round and plays music for 15 minutes. She loves looking up at the lignts on that thing and tries to roll over in it when she's in the mood. I am all about minimizing the stuff so I keep that mat in the living room. When I bring her in my room, I throw a blanket on the floor and she plays on that. But despite wanting to minize the stuff, I ended up buying the piano mat last week during the Amazon sale. I will keep it in my room. Now that she is way more alert in the daytime (3 months adjusted age), my mom needs several "baby areas" to entertain the baby during the day when she watches her. I figured buying the piano mat can't hurt since it seems like she can still use the toy after she outgrows the lay-around-like-a-baby part whereas the Rainforest mat will become just a mat once she isn't interested in laying around anymore.

I have 2 as well. I have once that I keep for when we travel to peoples houses,it usually just stays in my trunk. I like it as it keeps him occupied and give me someone to place him safe on the floor when we go other places. And we keep one on the main living space of our house.
I have 2 too. I had one for taking to Grandma's and other places that folded up, and I had an under the sea themed one that I used at the house. I actually think it is GOOD to have two of certain items namely bouncers, playmats, strollers (1 for each car) etc. I ended up leaving a bouncer, pack and play, booster, and playmat at my mom's house because were there frequently.
We have four, three were hand me downs and I bought the kick and play piano. He loves the piano!! We have one on each floor and two in the main floor and it's nice. I will admit our house is a wreck with baby gear but oh well. It keeps him occupied. If you only want to keep one, I would pick the piano. The Tiny Love Gymini is his second favorite.
