What do you listen to with your kids (of any age) besides Disney and Caspar Babypants? I'd like to download some more songs for our drive to daycare in the mornings rather than wasting all of my data on streaming Pandora.
I think this was a reallllly long time ago, maybe even at the place we don't speak of, but I remember cosmos had a female singer that she recommended. I can't seem to find the post, though.

I think cosmos suggested Laurie Berkner, because it prompted me to check out some of her stuff. She's pretty catchy and not too annoying.
We listen to a lot of Music Together CDs but that probably doesn't help. I've picked up Sesame Street and Raffi at the library for road trips too.

Besides Casper Babypants, we do Barry Louis Polisar (some of these songs are on the Juno soundtrack), Ralph's World, Barenakes Ladies, and They Might be Giants.
Ralph's World is DD1's favorite behing Casper Babypants.
Mostly, we listen to my music and the radio. For super long road trips where I need more entertainment, we do have some Raffi, Backyardigans (ugh, don't), and just random kid's crap. I like Raffi. And Fred Penner! I need to get some Fred Penner. Things from my own childhood are more tolerable.

Dan Zanes, we especially like sea music, but the other ones are good also. My kids also like the They Might Be Giants, but we only have their adult stuff not the kids stuff.

Dan Zanes is awesome. We love Little Nut Tree. Plus it is music that I like to listen to even if DS isn't around (and I have caught DH rocking out to it before lol). It is folksy.

We mostly listen to my music or classical. She loves the classical stuff, it helps calm her down and transition from school or other activities to home. Plus she likes to pick out the instruments.
In kiddie music, the only non-Disney stuff I can really stand is They Might Be Giants. Their 123 album is pretty good, but I love, love, love their 'Here Comes Science' album.
Dan Zanes, Ralph's World, Justin Roberts, Laurie Berkner, Brady Rymer, Frances England, Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band, Lunch Money, Recess Monkey, TMBG, Renee and Jeremy, Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, The Terrible Twos, Lisa Loeb
Putumayo World Music Laurie Berkner Frances England Lisa Loeb (she does kids music now, LOL!) TMBG's kid stuff
There's a series of albums called "For the Kids" that has some okay stuff.
Vintage Sesame Street.
We also have indie folk type music, or as msniq calls it, "mopey white boy music", on in the background often -- Decemberists, Iron & Wine, Blind Pilot, Milk Carton Kids, etc.
We have a pretty short ride to and from daycare so I don't even bother with the phone plug in. I try to put on a Jazz or Standards station on Sirius (since my preference is for Rap, R&B!).
I do have a playlist for him on Pandora, lots of songs from the Peanuts gang (pretty classical) and a little Jack Johnson and some of the other pop stars who have done kids music.
I have a Cassidy playlist on my phone. It's music I love that's appropriate for her. There are very few children's songs on it.
ETA: I also like the Rockabye Baby Cds - I have The Beatles, U2, The Pixies in my car, DH has Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, the Ramones and Pink Floyd in his. There are a lot more too.
ETA 2: I also really like What if Beethoven Wrote Born to Be Wild - it's a lot of old school rock done as classical music.
I listen to what I want to listen to. It works out well for me.
Ditto. I just listen to the radio, but I do skip the rap songs because of the profanity and they're NMS. DS loves "happy", American Authors, and Paramore right now.
Elizabeth Mitchell is my favorite kids artist (folk/indie music that reminds me of camp songs).
yes. i love her!
i don't put on kids music just for L but if i was going to, it would only be elizabeth mitchell because it sounds like music i actually like
I third the love for Elizabeth Mitchell, she's so calming. Another favorite which I don't think has been mentioned is the Laura Viers children's album.
