Dinner with friends tonight where we will announce to them. Nothing else planned. I am having my mom write on 2 onesies for when we announce on fb next week so I need to go buy fabric paint and take them to her house to do. I also should do some major cleaning.
I'm going with my bff to sample cake and help pick out the cake design for her wedding. Then we'll probably go out for lunch and walk around and shop for a bit. She asked if the babies liked cake, to which I responded, "the babies like all carbs!!"
Then Sunday will be errands and perhaps an Open House or two.
Tonight DH is having a couple of friends over to help him tape and mud the drywall in the basement. I will be baking a pie for a friend who is recovering a bench for me, then grocery shopping and cleaning the house.
Tomorrow in the morning we are taking a whole bunch of shredding to a free community shred event, then in the afternoon is my first shower! I'm so excited for it. In the evening we will eat dinner and put away the shower gifts, and probably start thank you notes.
Sunday we will go out and visit my Grandma, and also are going to stop by a friend's house to buy an extra base for our carseat from her. Her son just switched to a convertible seat and she is selling me an extra base for $25.
I am dragging today, so TGIF. HH event tonight. Not quite as fun when you can't drink! Yoga, brunch with friends and then a bachelorette party tomorrow night. At least I can be a DD? DH will be out of town, so I'm hoping to get some organizing and sewing done on Sunday.
ETA: Found out I passed my one-hour glucose test! Glad to not having that hanging over my head this weekend.
We head on vacation tomorrow!!! Florida bound!!! I can't wait! We will get to see my cousin & some good friends. The timing to see my cousin couldn't be better. There has been some family drama so I can't wait to just give her a hug!
Tonight I am picking up my new glasses right after work, then DH and I are making pizza. Tomorrow DH has Daddy Boot Camp in the morning, lol, then we're watching the Rangers game at home at 1PM. While DH is gone I'm going to be doing more organizing in the nursery. We're going out to dinner with my ILs for FIL's birthday, which was on Tuesday, at 6:30. Tomorrow is also my mom's birthday but we're celebrating hers and my dad's birthday (the 29th) together next week or the week after. Sunday, more house cleaning/organization.
Tonight I want to run some errands, but it's been one torrential downpour after another today, so I may just go home after work and curl up on the couch with the dogs.
Tomorrow I'm dropping my car off to get my tire patched, then H and I are driving downtown to go to a couple of festivals. There are 4 (!!!) happening within blocks of each other. If it ends up being way too crazy, we'll just go home and laze around in the hammock.
Sunday I need to clean the downstairs in anticipation of hosting Dinner Club. One of the perks of having a two-story house is that I can let the upstairs become a nuclear fallout site and no one is any the wiser. I also need to order my baby shower dress.
Related, VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION: Would it be strange if I wore a pink dress to a boy-themed shower?
Related, VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION: Would it be strange if I wore a pink dress to a boy-themed shower?
I don't think it would be strange. I'm planning on wearing a navy dress to my girl shower tomorrow. I don't look good in pink and love this navy dress I bought a couple of months ago. I say go for it and rock the pink!
Tonight - DH & I are going to pick up a dresser I found on CL for the nursery. It needs some work so we'll be working on it this summer.
Saturday & Sunday - Driving with my mom for 4 hrs to pick up my sister's car (she's in college and is taking an internship in Seattle). We're making a weekend of it though and going shopping in the Twin Cities. The goal is to find lots of maternity clothes. Stop number one is a consignment shop that is only maternity. Also on the agenda the 4 maternity stores in the Mall of America. We don't have "big city" selection like that where we live.
bowies, picture of dress please! Even though I have no desire to buy any new maternity clothes between now and babe's arrival, I can't help but looking at new, shiny things. And yes, pink is totally fine.
D2M, it's the Seraphine knot-front dress. I've been going back and forth between green and pink, but after checking out my closet I realized I own way too much in the blue/green spectrum as it is. I can justify a new dress if it's a different color, LOL. I briefly considered the purple print one, but it's sold out now.

Good choice. I think that's the color that Kate Middleton picked, too, so you will look fabulous.
Today, clean the house, go shopping, plant some stuff, make a birthday cake for my son.
Tomorrow: birthday party for our now three year old son! In the evening, we have a dinner to go to with our friends. They're getting married out of town and having a small wedding, so this is their send off.
Tonight is just hanging at home and making pizza with H.
Tomorrow my ILs are coming over to help us get going on our nursery renovations. We'll take them out to dinner Sat night to thank them for their help.
Sunday is a bachelorette day with friends. Shopping and lunch, which sounds perfect to me! The bride doesn't drink and two of the four guests are pregnant so it will be pretty low key.
I feel like I've gotten nothing done this week, besides nap. And I'm still exhausted. But I'm looking forward to the weekend!
Tonight, DH and I have plans to go through some of the piles of information that I received at my first OB appointment yesterday. Tomorrow, I have plans to see a play. I assigned it to my students, so I need to make sure to see it as well, even though it's going to probably have audience interaction and I HATE that. And then on Sunday, one of my friends is going to a kitten adoption event downtown, and invited me to join her. I plan to take many photos of the adorable critters.
Plus a good helping of getting through school work and teaching prep for the week.
