Because we don't plan to share with family. If they don't like the names they will make a big fuss and I can't deal with it.
Girl: we've moved from Domenica to Amelia. You guys were right, to many spelling and pronunciation variations.
Boy: Jack (maybe Jackson or maybe just jack)
Are there variations on Amelia I'm not aware of? Is there a nick name for it?
Oh and initials would be AS and JS. H was thinking Ben at one point but that would make him BS!

I like Amelia a lot. I have heard Lia as a nickname, but I don't think it's a name that needs a nickname at all.
Jack and Jackson are super popular right now, but if that doesn't bother you, they are both nice, solid names.
ETA: Behind the Name says Amelia is a variation of Amalia. Emilia is not technically related, but it does have a very similar sound.

Jackson I liked before I saw it was popular so I'm gonna go with it! It goes so well with the last name.

I love both. If I didn't already have a cousin Amelia, it would be on our short list of names.

I wanted Jackson but H vetoed it due to popularity. We went with Ben, lol!
I like Amelia but don't love it. Certainly isn't too popular and everyone would know how to pronounce it which is a huge plus IMO.

That's awesome because we liked the name Mia but we weren't sure about it. So Mia can be a cute nn for her!

Both of these were on my list, so I love them!
My friend whose daughter's name is Amelia goes by Mia. It's cute.

Yes, I've had a student named Amelia who went by Amy.
I love both of the names. If I wanted to call a boy Jack, I would name him John.

I love Amelia. I would have considered it for DD but I don't like it with our last name.
I like Jack and Jackson but don't like how popular they are.

I have an Amelia, nicknamed Millie, so I'm partial to that name
I think I like Jackson over Jack, but either one sounds nice.

I like both. As pp suggested also, I would say Millie would be a cute nn for Amelia.

I love both these names! Amelia was definitely on my short list if we were having a girl and I've always loved Jack.

I like both names. I know kids with both names that are adorable. IMO If you like the name use it, who cares if its popular.
