We're trying to figure out a name for DD2. We like classic names, and would prefer it to fit the syllable patter n 2-1-1 since that's what DD1's name fits.
The one name that we both like well enough to use is Hannah Grace.
The hangup? Hannah means grace.
DH doesn't think anyone will know that or pick up on it. SIL said the same (though, I'm not terribly inclined to listen to her as she's completely nuts).
We also kind of like: Hannah Faith Hannah Elizabeth (even though it doesn't fit the syllable pattern) Rachel Grace
We're not married to the middle names, but we already used Jane and all the other 1 syllable names sound a little hayseed (to me) when paired with Hannah. We are open to suggestions.

You might be overthinking but I do this too. We rejected a few names for DS2 because the meaning bothered me for whatever reason. Hannah Joy? Hannah Mae? I like Hannah Faith a lot.
We've decided on the name Greta for our daughter. I am set on using the name Margaret (my grandmother's first name) as her middle name.
What is the problem? I found out that Greta is a nickname for Margaret and they both mean "pearl."
I'm not into planned nicknames, so I didn't want to have her first name be Margaret and call her Greta.
So, I'm going with it. My H and I figure that not many people know that Greta is short for Margaret, and middle name meanings don't really come up all that often.

So, all that to say, I think you're totally fine.
This is why I didn't want to name her Rebecca - because I KNOW she'll end up Becca or Becky (neither of which I care for).
My DH was looking at a list of names and saw 'Cat' as a nickname for Catherine. We had a laugh over that because my first kitty when I was growing up was called 'Hannah Cat' even though her name was just Hannah.
The more I think about it the more I'm leaning toward Hannah Faith.
I like it, but Grace is SO overused as a middle name. It's like people want one syllable and automatically go with Grace. Having said that, I don't really care what other people name their kids, and I don't think middle names matter most of the time. And Hannah Grace has a nice ring to it.
My name is Hannah and I never knew it meant grace! Hah. I've never had anyone tell me this either. So I think you'd be ok going with it as a middle name. That said, I like Hannah Faith as well.
I would definitely have a hang-up about doubling up on names with the same meaning. Hannah or Anna Grace are my pet peeves, particularly, since I've known the meaning of Anna/Hannah since as far back as I can remember.
I could forgive it if you were using "Grace" to honor someone, but if you're just going for the flow/sound, I would try to find something else.

Just jumping in to say I have a 15 year old sister named Rebecca, and she's just Rebecca. No nickname.

My niece and DD #1 both have names with very common nn's. And neither gets called by them, b/c they are old enough to have an opinion and always introduce themselves by their full names. My niece never got called by the nn, b/c my sister did the same right from the time she was born (she hated the "usual" nn but wanted the full name, along with an alternative nn used only by family). We did use the common nn for DD for a long time, up until she asked us not to, and it wasn't hard to get people to stop doing it in favor of her full name.
That said...I'm partial to Hannah Faith, as Faith is my younger DDs mn, as well. While I never knew Hannah meant Grace until this post, and most people won't, I'm not a fan of doubling up on the meaning so now that I *do* know I can't really get past it, and as a parent I wouldn't do it if I'd known before the baby was born/named.
