I'm so excited to be joining you over here! Here's a bit about me: I'm Katie, I'm turning 31 this week, H is 32. we've been together for 10.5 years, married for 8.5, and we just found out last week that we're expecting our first baby! We're so excited but still cautious because it's very early (I think I'm about 4 weeks and 2-3 days).
Here's my question: I called my doctor and they're having me come in on Wednesday for a confirmation appointment. Has anyone done one of those? What should I expect? At my annual a few months ago, the dr. told me that I should expect to come in when I'm 7 or 8 weeks along, so I was surprised when they scheduled this one. I mean, it's fine- I don't mind going in and I've taken about 400 tests already so I'm not really concerned about it, but I'm just confused.
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to hopefully hanging out here for the next 9 months!

Yes. Early confirmation appointments for me have meant urine test (same as the kind you get in the store) and a blood draw for HCG levels. They may also do your annual exam at that point, but they may also hold off until your first u/s which is used to date the pregnancy.
It just depends on the office & when you call. If you call early, they'll run the blood work for you, if you call later they'll set you up for an u/s.
I had a confirmation appointment which was basically a pee test and a quickie u/s just in case. (There was nothing to see of course at 4 weeks) I was a special snowflake though because I had just had an ectopic a few months before and I was watched very closely early on.
I would imagine they may just have you do a urine test and/or blood test and talk to you about prenatals and what not. Not sure if they would do an u/s or not since it's so early, if they do end up doing one then I think it would probably be a transvaginal since I think those are more common really early on...
Congratulations! My confirmation consisted of an U/S, It was done after 6 weeks to see a heartbeat and to make sure the pregnancy was in the uterus. I have my first appt with the OB this Friday.
